What is the new hot spot for clubbing and dining in vegas?|177968

What is the new hot spot for clubbing and dining in vegas?

  • The newest and hottest Vegas clubs:

XS - At Encore, absolutely amazing. I recommend industry night; Mondays.
The Rose - At Mandalay Bay, opens in a couple weeks.

But the ones everybody is excited about are these; opening December 31st 2009:
    Haze at Aria
    Vanity at Hard Rock
    Eve at City Center

  • The palms is amazing, they have some of the best restraunts and they have the playboy club which is real popular

The venition is so cool there are some of the best clubs and restaurants.

Red Rock which is off the strip has a nice club called cherry and they have a great sushi place and italian.

Mandalay Bay has Rum Jungle, which is a really neat club in THE hotel there is mix.

Basicly all the hotels now have clubs so just roam around and look on each hotels sites.

I would avoid the Hard Rock its very crowded and is extremely small so its pretty annoying.

  • The hottest club right now is XS in Encore. That place is huge and still manages to get overcrowded quite often. If you_re looking to go here, be prepared to pay for a table to enjoy it or else you_ll find yourself rubbing your body against total strangers everywhere you go!

  • Vegas, by definition, is the place to go clubbing. theres no specific place. You just bar hop till you find yourself somewhere you enjoy best
  • What is the best way to see the most of the USA with a limited VISA?|166894

After University I want to go and travel the USA with 2 of my mates. The original plan was to fly to New York, buy a car and travel down the east coast. If needed we would get a Part-time job to obtain spending money, and then continue travelling across the southern/central part of the USA to the West Coast.

We would then travel up the West Coast, and finally along the Northarn/Central part of the USA heading East through Chicago and Boston back to New York for a flight back home. In general terms it would be a circular route.

After discussing the length of the trip we were planning on travelling for between 8-12 months, but VISA_s restrict us from doing this. The options we have now are to try and do it in 3 months with a visitors VISA.

The question I want to ask is can anyone see anyway around this, or any other options available? I thought about travelling the USA for 3 months, then heading to Australia, then coming back and doing another 3 months. Is this allowed?

  • The best way to see the USA is by automobile. Your idea about traveling along the route suggested is good. You might want to try to go from NY to FLA then pick up I 10 and go across the country to LA. You would see many of the great Eastern and Southern US cities that way. Then go to Australia and apply for another tourist visa, Return to LA and go up the west coast and across the north and midwest ending back in NY. While you would still miss many sites inside this _great circle_ it would provide a nice subsection of the US. Seeing the whole 50 states would take you about 3 years. By the way try to stop off in Hawaii on the way to Australia.

Another excellent method would be to travel by Amtrack - no driving and you can also see a lot by train.

  • My niece did this and its not easy. Work is hard to find and very poorly paid and just plain impossible in some places. Greyhound bus is a great cheap way to get from point to point but takes time. You could try hooking up with others in a hostel and buying a car or share lifts, be careful who with though and use common sense.
You can in theory leave the country and then go back but you would have to look into it thoroughly with the embassy who are very helpful in general.
Do as much research as possible via the web, lonely planet, youth Hostel Association, loads of gap year sites on line etc and pick the best option for you.
Many responses are far too optimistic so weigh up things on the cautious side.
    Good luck and have fun

  • Where is the best place in Alaska to view the Northern Lights?|167375

Im interested in visiting Alaska sometime during the Spring, and was wondering if the Northern Lights could be seen around that time of the year. Also, are there particular spots in Alaska that are great for viewing them or could be frequently seen? Thanks!

  • Hello,

I am a professional Alaskan nature photographer. I have a free 13 page guide to viewing and photographing the Northern Lights on my web site, www.northpolegallery.com in the News section.

Fairbanks and north are best - starting about the 1st week of September through the end of March. I advise people to come to Fairbanks the first week of March - it has been historically a good time to view, the weather is good for viewing, and they have the International Ice Carving Festival and dog sled races going on. The ice festival is a good photo op both day and nightime. This time frame works great because if the northern lights are not happening - you still have things to see and do.

Feel free to email me any questions.

    Kevin

  • I live in Palmer, AK and my favorite spot to watch the Northern Lights is from my living room window! Fairbanks is a good place. In fact, Asian folks think that if you conceive a baby during the Northern Lights the baby will have a long and prosperous life. So, many hotels host special rates to draw in the crowds.

  • Favorite destinations for viewing this phenomenon include Denali National Park and anywhere in Fairbanks.

  • Spring? you must be here before March 30 to see it, the more northward, the more chance you will see it, but not in metro area.

What is the best way (pricewise)to book a family vacation to disney world for 14 people?|133258

I am looking to book a trip for 14 to disney world fl. and I would liketo have a comfortable condo at a reasonable price. Also if there are any sugestions for park tickets that would save me money.

  • How fun!!!

Go thru disney. They will have deals for _good neighbor_ hotels that include park hopper tickets.

Check disney.com or call a travel agent. If you buy tickets and a place to stay seperately, it will more pricey.

  • don_t go

  • Get discounted park tickets through one of these legitimate vendors:

    Disney Store
    AAA (membership required)
Costco or Sam_s Club (Membership required)

My husband and I own a timeshare and sometimes stay at Fantasyworld Vacation Villas in Kissimmee. They are very nice. You can also look into the Best Western Lakeside - which is a wonderful resort with ajoining rooms.

If you would like help planning your trip, or if you would just like to read up on some fun tips and advice, which is updated monthly, check out my Disney Vacation Services Blog at:

    Have a great time!

  • I don_t know if you ever heard of Coastal but they have some great vacation packages that you can purchase once and can use it for the rest of your life. these are 15,000.00$ and upwards packages for pennies on the dollar. You don_t have to sell these packages to own one. Here is the website you can check out
    http://www.shahansdestinations.com
. It is a home based biz site but go on check out the packages(which are cheaper when purchased as just a package), then call the 1-800# and give them the ID code 7973LS and tell them you are interested in a package only not the biz or you can buzz me at 1-866-562-1967. Hope you find what your looking for and GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!!! (If you check out the site, it is a biz site and you start receiving emails just subscribe)

  • Traveling with 14 people, you may want to take a look at renting a vacation home instead of a condo. You may want to consider renting one of the homes with 5+ bedrooms. If you want to split up your travel group then you may want to consider renting two 4 bedroom homes. You may also qualify for additional discounts by using the _group travel_ method.

  • I am doing the same thing this year but we have 17 people going. The cheapest way is going to be to rent a villa. The best site I have found is www.VRBO.com. They have tons of homes. You are probably going to need a 6 or 7 bedroom yourself - it depends on how the families are divided. They are running anywhere from 1800 up to 3000 for the off season. Check them out.

  • The best way for you to go to Disney World with 14 people is to camp there and for you to drive there from where every you are right now and you you to go at the beginning of spring and end of winter. Also get park passes before you go there so you don_t have to pay for them there. If you say on property you will get to go to a park early (early hours) and leave later then everyone else. I hope this helps.

  • its going to be EXPENSIVE no matter which method you use. For all those things, you would have to book direct with disney.com possibly

  • here is the site for affordable disney vacations

  • How safe is it to walk the streets of Manhattan at night?|119490

What_s the latest someone can stay out and still be relatively safe?

  • In Manhattan, south of ~112 street, you can walk around at any time, the city is very safe. Obviously, don_t be careless or flash money around, but you_ll be fine. There are a few bad blocks here and there, like around Tompkins Square park late at night or around 14th street and the West Side Highway, but, overall, Manhattan is very safe, you can walk around anytime day or night. I_ve even fallen asleep on subway late an night coming back from Brooklyn to Manhattan and have never had a problem.

  • wooh... it_s really safe, especially on the weekends! my friend _ i walked from times square (42nd street) to chelsea (20th street) @ 3am, and there are tourists/ locals all over!

  • I actually feel safer in Manhattan than any other place late at night. I was shocked the first time I saw the streets of the West Village overflowing with people at 1am, just like it was daytime, maybe even more so!

Midtown will be more deserted, but you_re still safe as long as you steer clear of obvious dangers

  • perfectly safe. just don_t wander over into brooklyn....

  • Perfectly safe... if you_re made of kevlar.
  • What county is home to celebrating cheeseburgers and an axe thats no good?|153015

im doing something for school and need to know--what county is home to celebrating cheeseburgers and an axe that_s no good? it has a famous bridge, touches four great lakes, and the county shares its name with a great lake. I know that the location is in the united states i think it is Michigan or Pennsylvania ,but i may be wrong.

  • Huron county -- it is in the thumb of Michigan. Caseville has a big cheeseburger in paradise festival every year. Bad Axe is a city located in Huron County.

  • Look on a map and see which is by a great lake. Home work is needed to be done by you if you ever plan to learn on your own.

Is it safe to park my car on the street overnight in the Garden District?|166489

I can_t bear to pay $30 for overnight parking the French Quarter! I figure I can park on the street in the Garden District somewhere, and take the street car to the FQ. I know nothing is gaurenteed, and of course I_ll take anything of value out of the car. The Garden District seems like a nice area, I_ve seen some pretty nice cars parked out there! Any other suggestions for avoiding parking fees are appricated.

  • Yeah, i don_t see that being a problem.
I mean, obviously use common sense and read posted signs and don_t park next to a fire hydrant or anything...
    Have a good time :)

  • Parking in the old garden district is tight. The problem you might have is that if you take someone_s parking space in front of their house, you are very likely to have someone come after your car with a tow or a wheel lock (a _boot_ as we call them here.)

The fine for illegal parking will be more than the $30 bucks. This is _penny wise and pound foolish_ if you ask me.

  • Are you worried about it being stolen? HAHAHA

You better worry about the grimy snakes called the Meter Maids.

They will tow your car at night, and make you think it_s been stolen.

Then, after you figure out where your car is at 3 AM, you_ll have to pay them more than $100.00 for the tow to the Impound Lot.

  • HAHA! yes. its safe. i_d be worried more about finding my way around. lol. just dont leave any valuables in clear sight and u should be fine!

    have fun!

    and GO SAINTS!
