What is the best area to live for a single 27yr. old whom is into the arts and music?|158430

I am originally from metro detroit and have moved to greenville, sc and I need to be a little more city less bible belt. And I am into the arts and music and looking for a cheap safe area near downtown charlotte, nc any suggestions????? I have about 4months.

Some great towns (not full of unfriendly yuppies that tend to clog cities) with lots of music and art scene... plus the great outdoors (which i think goes with art anyway)...

ashville, nc
albuquerque _ santa fe, nm
burlington, vermont
bellingham, wash

if you must stay in the south (charlotte is the king of yuppie-ville) and around the city... good freakin_ luck.... that city is about what kind of car you drive, what_s in your portfolio (not art portfolio) and what you wear.. the town has a super-small art scene for the size of the city, with not much going on.... good luck!!

Personally, i would have to say Las Vegas, i live here, and if ur into arts and perfomances, we have plenty shows out here, umm VMA_s are held out here, Alot of concerts are held here every month, if u move to Henderson (town in Las Vegas) its a very safe community.
