What is the closest place to San Francisco where it snows?|162034

I_m doing research for a story I_m writing and was wondering if there is anywhere the characters could travel where there may be snow. Thanks!

  • Usually, you can see snow in Mt Hamilton in San Jose, Mt Diablo in Walnut Creek and Mt St Henela in Napa.

It only lasts for a couple of days.

  • The sierras. Your characters could drive there in 3 hours if they live in the bay area. If you just need a little snow, Mt. Diablo get a tiny bit a few times a year, and that_s in the east bay.

  • to be very specific, its not lake tahoe. the closest place it snows near sf is mt. tamilpas, it dosent snow every year but thats the closest.

  • Lake Tahoe area. Just take I-80 east. I_m orginally from Sacramento, it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from there, so I_d just add on a couple more hours.

  • Lake Tahoe. It is a coupe hours away, but it is worth the trip for your characters. Hope that helps!
