Why?
1) Astoria Blvd is the second stop on the N/W line which means that regardless of hour you are guaranteed to get a seat
2) By getting off the M-60 in Queens it saves you the trip over the Triboro Bridge into Manhattan
3) Rector and Trinity is one block closer to your destination than Wall _ Bwy is
4)If you_re hungry the Neptune Diner which is basically under the Astoria Blvd subway stop is a good place to get a bite to eat
As far as unlimited MetroCards go Yes by all means get one b/c they offer an incredible value if you intend to explore this city at all
Just so you know :
The Hudson Newsstands in LGA sell $4.50 MetroCards ,they have locations upstairs and in the gate areas _So make sure that you have a MetroCard in your possession before heading downstairs to catch the M-60
NYC buses also take CHANGE But not bills So tossing a roll of quarters in your luggage isn_t a bad idea
$2.25 buys you 1 ride+1 transfer
Enjoy NYC

Unfortunately, the Marriott at 85 West Street does not provide shuttle service.

The W, R, 1, 4 and 5 are trains that stop nearby the Marriott so from the airport, you could take the M60 Bus and transfer to the 4 train at 125 Street/Lexington Station and ride the 4 train to the Wall Street Station where you can then exit and have a short walk to the hotel.

The unlimited ride card ranges from $8.25 for the 1-day pass, to $89 for a 30-day pass. However, if you_re staying in town for a week or two, I would recommend purchasing a 7-day or 14-day unlimited ride MetroCard. The 7-day unlimited ride card will cost you $27 and the 14-day card will cost $51.50 per person.
Please note, the unlimited ride card can not be shared, it has to be purchased individually.
In regards to how to get from LGA to 85 West Street in Lower Manhattan, here are the travel directions.
Step 1: after purchase your unlimited ride MetroCard, take the take the M60 bus from the airport to the Astoria Blvd subway station.
Step 2: at the Astoria Blvd subway station, transfer to the Manhattan-bound (westbound) _W_ subway lines (Yellow Line on the subway map). Take the _W_ train from Astoria Blvd to Rector Street. The transfer between the bus and the subway at the Astoria Blvd subway station is free.
Step 3: at Rector Street, exit the subway and following the walking direction at the link below.

Please note, _W_ train only operates during the week (Mondays to Friday). If you_re traveling on the weekends, you will need to take _N_ train to Rector Street.
I hope this information is very helpful.
Good luck happy holidays
