What is the normal weather in the western region of the US around the December amp; January?|133921

My husband and I are planning a road trip for about a week a couple days after Christmas. We were going to drive from Tennessee to California. Just wondering what the weather is like normally around that time of the year. I would like to know for any of the states that we are driving through (AK, OK, TX, NM, AZ, _ CO)

Hard to say exactly but expect snow _ really cold weather on I-40 from Oklahoma City to Ash Fork AZ.I would definitely carry chains.
As in all winter driving situations the key to success is making sure that you have the capability to safely spend the night in the car should the need arise to do so
btw How did CO get into that mix ?
FYI_I know for a fact that in good weather you can drive Amarillo to Memphis in one day _albeit it_s a long day

Yeah this is a dumb place to ask for that kind of info, also i used to live in California, it will be 80 degrees and sunny in so-co but u drive 2-3 hours north and your skiing.

Go to weather.com and check out each state. Also each state_s climate is reported in their wikipedia article. I presume you are going on the I-40 most of the way. Expect snow in New Mexico and Arizona because of the altitude. .
