What is the closest beach to Sea World in San Diego?|148268

I_m planning a trip o San Diego and I_d like to stop at a near by beach before I head to Seaworld. What beach is near by?

  • Mission Beach is closest to Sea World. That_s a really active beach with a younger vibe. There is also Belmont Amusement Park with the wooden Big Dipper Roller Coaster right on Mission Beach. To get to Mission Beach from Sea World just take Sea World Drive west to W Mission Bay Drive and head west. Once you see the Roller Coaster start to look for parking in the big lots.

Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs are also close to Sea World. Ocean Beach has a real 60s vibe. Sunset Cliffs is one of the least crowded beach areas in San Diego - but the beach is harder to get to and may disappear at high tide. To get to Ocean Beach from Sea World just take Sea World Drive to Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Follow Sunset Cliffs right into Ocean Beach and look for street parking. Go further and you are at Sunset Cliffs. You will know you are at Sunset Cliffs when you can see the Pacific Ocean to your right.

  • Mission Bay has lots of beaches and is very close to Sea World.

If you want ocean waves, the closest beach is Mission Beach. For more info on the beaches and directions to each of them visit:

  • The simple answer is mission beach or Ocean beach, they are about the same distance away. Mission beach is large and has a roller coaster. Ocean Beach is more of a local beach but has cool shops, food, and the longest pier on the west coast. Either one is good. Check out the details here

  • if you are coming down the 5 freeway, Mission bay is right along the freeway before the Sea World exit. That_s the nice beach to stop by.

  • downtown beach
