What can visiting college students do for fun in Kansas City?|125780

I_m visiting Kansas City from Oct. 28-31 with a group of 7 students from Florida for a college newspaper conference. We_ve never been there and would like to go out while we_re there. Are bars and clubs all 21-and-up in KC? Only about half of us are over 21.

Kansas City has a number of great haunted houses in the fall that are worth looking into. You_ll notice several people have already mentioned Worlds of Fun, an area theme park. There_s also the numerous shopping areas such as the Country Club Plaza in KCMO and Legends in KCK near the race track.

You might want to keep tabs on some of the community calendars as your trip nears - both the KC Star (main stream newspaper) and the Pitch (alternative free press paper) have them on their websites - see sources below.

Yes, most of the bars are 21 and over, though some do all-ages shows (or at least 18 and up) from time to time.

Worlds of fun has halloweekends going on at that time or the Legends shopping center is fun too. Also the plaza can be fun, but I like the legends there is a club, actually I think it is 3 in one, they have a bowling alley an adult arcade and a ton of shopping. They keep building on to it but its alot of fun. Also you can go to the haunted houses, but they aren_t as fun when it is that close to Halloween but if you have never been then it would be fun, there are just alot of people there

The haunted houses under the 12th street bridge is the thing to do in the fall in kansas city. They are in old run down warehouses. They are all really neat but I would recommend The Beast. It takes a couple of hours to get all the way through it. Worlds of Fun also has haunted houses around halloween so you could get two in one. Go to the haunted houses then get on a roller coaster. All the good bars you have to be 21 to get in trust me I_m only 20 and all my friends are already 21. And of course you have to have some bbq when you come to kansas city. Aurther Bryants and Fiorella_s Jack Stack Barbecue are my two favorites.

I would go to tthe Power and Light district downtown. You can listen to good music, have a great dinner, etc. Or you could see whats going on at the Sprint Center during that time. (KC bars are all 21+) but if you wanna drive to Lawerence KS, its about 20-30 minute drive, their bars are all 18+.
The plaza is always a fun time! Tons to do there! Worlds of Fun is ok too. Comedy clubs like Sanford and Sons...
Oooh! and the haunted houses are amazing here! Under the 12th STreet bridge downtown. They are huge and really scary and fun. They are old abandoned buildings that are renovated into haunted houses. Creep you out too!

Forget about bars, go to Worlds of Fun! It_s right off of I-435 just 7 miles northeast of Kansas City, Missouri/Kansas. It has some great roller coasters and is really fun.
