How do I go from Brooklyn to Washington DC via train or Greyhound?|146971

I_m looking for info on how to catch a train or bus from Brooklyn to Washington DC. I_m aware it_s about a 4 hour commute. What_s the best way? And how/where can I catch it?

  • If you decide to go by train, you would start by taking the subway from Brooklyn into Manhattan, getting off at the Penn Station stop at 34th Street.

At Penn Station you_d get on an Amtrak train heading to Washington, DC. There are two major types of trains: the extra-cost Acela service, which is aimed at expense-account travelers, and the more moderately-priced Regional service trains. There are trains throughout the day.

If you want to go by Greyhound bus, you would take the subway from Brooklyn to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan (at about West 40th Street), where you can catch a bus to Washington, DC.

    Here_s a link to Amtrak_s website:

    http://www.amtrak.com

  • Go to the Brooklyn, NY Greyhound station. The address is:

    BROOKLYN GREYHOUND STA
    288 LIVINGSTON ST
    Brooklyn, NY 11217

and catch the bus going to Washington, DC.

you_re probably gonna have to transfer in Manhattan for the DC bus.

and the trip by bus will take a minimum of 6 hours each way.

the trip will cost about $89 per person.

  • Train is more comfy. Take Acela.

If you decide to do the cheap route ($20+ one way) take the Chinatown express from Chinatown NY to Chinatown DC

or the Peter Pan Bus for a few bucks more.

  • you could check out the many bus services
    from New York to DC
(including Bolt, megabus and other carriers
    as well)
