What are some hipster neighborhoods in San Francisco and Chicago?|106118

Every big city has them. In Los Angeles they_re Silver Lake and Echo Park. In New York it_s Williamsburg (and some other parts of Brooklyn). I_m not too familiar with Chicago and San Francisco, so what are the quintessential hipster neighborhoods in those cities? If there are hipster neighborhoods in some other cities (D.C., Baltimore, Miami...?, St. Louis...?) I_d like to hear about those too!

The hipster stronghold in San Francisco is the Mission District. Hipsters hang out in other parts of the city but this the primary location.
