Instead if the traditional dinner, and since we all want you to take her to the riverwalk... Try starting with a drink at Swig followed by appetizers at Boudro_s then stroll down the riverwalk and have a Romantic dinner at Las Canarias, stroll back up the riverwalk for cheesecake or icecream, and finish with dancing at Bonham or Polly Esthers.
Instead of dinner and a movie get tickets to a play from the Broadway series at the Majestic (or you can save money at one of the other theatres in town) live theatre is usually much more entertaining and gives you more to talk about after the show.
Take a drive to Canyon Lake and watch the sunset from the deck at Papa Docks restaurant, go on a night they have live music and stay and enjoy the music, then walk around the lake and look at the stars.
Remember your childhood and go to Dave and Buster_s for dinner and play the games for a while.
For New Years if you don_t have a party to attend, head downtown for the festivities and fireworks, it is a lot of fun, and they have the park _ ride running so you don_t have to find parking downtown if you don_t want to try.
Go to the Wurstfest, or just look in the Weekender section of the Express News for a local festival, there is usually one close by almost every weekend.
Suprise her on a weekend with a drive down for a picnic on the beach. It is only 3 hours away.
