Are there any decent condos or hotels ON the beach that are open?

I was there after the storm and boy what a mess!

Just about all the major hotels are open and have been for quite some time. By ON the beach, do you mean on Seawall, or don_t you even want a road between your hotel and the beach? If the former, any of them along seawall are open. If it_s the latter, try Escapes. They_re pretty much on the beach. Otherwise, you_ll have to rent a beach house or condo.

Most of Galveston has recovered from last year. It is the homes and individual properties that are taking time to recover, but company owned properties and business were up an running right away. As far as good cheap hotels in the Galveston, i would recommend the Holiday Inn resort and The Holiday inn Sunspree resort in Galveston. Both are lowering prices right now and have a pretty friendly staff.

Most everything along the Seawall is open. All the hotels/businesses on the Seawall are across the street. Escapes is beachfront but is a Timeshare doubt if you could get anything there unless you rent from an owner. Some shops downtown at the Strand are open but there still needing more work over there.
