How is the weather, people, and culture of Georgia and South Carolina?|112139

Is the cost of living high in GA/SC? Is there alot of rascism against minorities? How are the people? Recommendations where to buy a house? Thanks.

  • I live in the Atlanta area. The weather in summer is hot (usually in the 90_s this time of year) and extremely humid. winters are mild with usually only 1 winter storm per year. The cost of living is lower than the northeast and west coast, but this area is growing rapidly. The people are nice and outside of downtown atlanta, southern hospitality is still common. racism is not a big problem like it used to be but there are still a small group of people who are prejudiced. If your considering the atlanta area, I recommend the northwestern suburbs in marietta, kennesaw, and acworth. they have more of a small town atmosphere but are still convenient to downtown and the airport.

  • In South Carolina, the weather is extremely hot and humid, but very nice during the Fall and Spring. People are great and very friendly. Cost of living is very low compared to northern states. As far as where to live I would explore Greenville or maybe look at property on Lake Greenwood or Lake Santee.
