I_m thinking about being a police officer in detroit and I want to work with the worst because im a tough girl and please serious answers.

Don_t believe the hype about male members not wanting to work with females. Not true. If you_re a worker and you_re not afraid and they know they can depend on you to get home at the end of the shift, that_s all that matters.

As far as working with the worst, if you really haven_t been around _the hood_ then maybe you should get your feet wet in a calm precinct area like # 12. If you_re brave and you want to work and learn to be the REAL po-lice, go to either the 9th precinct on the eastside or on the westside the 2nd/10th precinct.

As for the haters that say the eastside is the worse, you wouldn_t know because you_re afraid to hang with us. There are some areas on the westside that are worse than areas on the east (Dexter/Monterey/Linwood).

But most importantly, remember to treat people with respect. No matter how effed up they are. Good luck to you.

I would think you are going to run into similar things throughout Detroit. Just stay away from special events cop or a mounted police officer.

You have no need to worry about a where the worst neighborhoods are. If you sign up with detroit police and get the job, you can be sure to start with the worst shifts in the worst parts of the city.

Like the one person said before, Brightmoor will be very challenging. But anywhere on the eastside, past Van Dyke, will really be challenging. Good luck!
