What can you do to pass the time on an airplane without getting motion sickness?|195038

In May, I_m going to Disney World for a class trip. This will be my first time going on an airplane. I never get carsick and I never get sick when going on roller coasters. I heard you can still get airsick though. I know if you just look out the window, everything will be fine but I don_t know if I can just sit there looking out a window for 21\2 hours. I just turned 12 years old. What can I do to pass the time on an airplane without getting motion sickness.

  • Request a seat on the wing usually isles 13,14, and 15 if you can get a window that will even be better. Since the wing is in the middle it is the first to level off. Unfortunately if you hits turbulence there is not much you can do. Turbulence is air pockets and nothing to fear, they will ask you to remain seated and put on your seat belts, but it is just for your safety. You can also take some word search books or magazines to read while on the plane. But since you are going on a class trip you will be so busy talking to your friends that you will be on and off the plane before you know it. You are allowed to bring Ipod, game systems and other items like that so you can concentrate on them. Check with the school though to make sure you are allowed those items, but remember the hotel does not take responsibility for stolen items, so if you take these items find a real good hiding spot in your room so it will be there when you get back. Luggage is the first place people look as well as drawers with clothes.

  • I do get sick in a car after being in one for more than an hour. And if I_m dehydrated, roller coasters aren_t my best friends, either.
And being in a some-what small boat? Forget it! However, I have *never* felt sick from riding on an airplane, and I_ve flown from Chicago to London.
If you are very, very worried, there is an over-the-counter medication for motion sickness called Dramamine. If you buy the big tablets(about the size of an Advil), even though it says you can take two, I would recommend taking half of one. Be careful because this stuff makes you incredibly drowsy. That_s why I only recommend one small tablet or half of a big one. Take it while you_re waiting at the terminal. Of course, check with your parents to see what they think before you buy it and try it.

Good luck, and have a great time!
