Thanksgiving trip ideas-What cool things in the United States do you recommend?|109885

We want to spend it in the United States. Some people are coming from New Hampshire, some from Maryland, some from San Francisco, CA so we want to _meet up_. We_d prefer warm/hot weather (so not the North) and/or a resort. Anywhere cool that you live or have visited you can recommend? We like to swim, shop, go to theme parks, water parks, sightsee, do tourist stuff, go to casinos. Not big nature people (hiking, biking) and not doing extreme sports (hang gliding, bungee jumping). Thanks!

  • You might want to consider Hawaii. On Oahu they have swimming, warm weather, shops, a water park, and tons and tons of touristy sight seeing stuff. Waikiki Beach sounds like it would be a good fit for you all. It is a long haul from the east coast, but worth the trouble to get there!!

    Have fun.

  • I would recommend staying in Pennsylvania. There are amusement parks, like Hershey, fairs, historical sites to see and you_d be in the middle. So if you would want to go see Maryland and go to Baltimore, you wouldn_t be far, you could go to the Hard Rock Cafe in the Inner Harbor see the Aquarium and all that.

  • Branson, Missouri! Fly into Springfield if you_re not driving, and enjoy the gorgeous scenery on the way to Branson! Uh, this is a _cool_ place, tho... not warm. It is centrally located, and about everything on your list exists there.
That is, it_s cool in the fall and cold in winter... except for the fact that it is Missouri... you can never depend on the weather. If you don_t like it one day, stick around. It_ll change! You can scratch your sunburned back with your frostbitten fingers...

  • try disneyland in florida

  • I can only advise you in the area I know as Im on the east coast. In November , the state that has what your looking for is Florida. bettyk

  • I think Florida is probably your best bet. It_s got everything you mentioned doing...Orlando or Tampa/Clearwater.

  • yes I have been to the florida keys and loved key west fl. lots to do there and all the places you want to see and do are there. We are going back in august.

  • SIX FLAGS!!

  • Come stay with me! I am the manager of a small bed and breakfast in Southern PA (another vote for Pennsylvania!), and we are just getting it started up. Check out the website (below), and then let me know when to expect you! We are designed to be a resting place for missionaries, etc., but are open to the public this year until we have more missionaries lined up. Oh, and we do have a full kitchen you can use, and the option of meals prepared (for an additional fee), so you could have your whole Thanksgiving dinner all set for you! Hope to see you for Thanksgiving!

  • go to Hawaii
