Does anyone know of a good family mini getaway?|144463

My husband and I are planning a 3-4 day getaway with our 8 year old. We currently live in California and would like to stay away from Disneyland. Does anyone know where we could get away without breaking the bank?

Many museums have free admission days. It might be crowded, but fun none the less. All local museums near my area have free days posted on their website. You should check it out. It might not take up 3-4 days but it can be nice stops or if you are in an area near the museum.

Another option is a national park. Reserving a camp site for a couple days is pretty cheap. You can use your own tent and equipment or theirs.

the zoo and science centres and museums are a lot of fun. Im not in the California area but here we have a place called medieval times where its like a dinner theatre with a battle and dinner. A watter park could be fun too. a good way to cool down

you could drive up north to washington state and just hang out around there or drive up to maybe even see a little of canada
