I would say that Oahu is the cheapest island to live and work on. You can find jobs more frequently and you have many more stores available to you so competition drives some prices down. Everything more or less comes into Oahu and then spreads out from there and thus the reason for higher costs on the other islands. Hope this helps.

The big island, on the Hilo side. It is rainier over there, but not a very long drive over to Kona where the beaches are gorgeous. Also, Hilo is big enough to have all the conveniences of a city (without being a CITY, if you know what I mean).

oahu is the cheapest island to live on. it_s big so due to the many options, the demand is lower so prices need to be competitive. also, there_s a great bus system, housing is a bit less expensive, and there is a great opportunity for employment

you can get a plate of food in oahu for 8 bucks and for the same exact food, pay 15 in maui...meeehhh!!
