Can you visit the United States with a Canadian Permanent Resident Card?|182637

I want to visit the US but all i have is a Permanent Resident Card. So all I want to know is if it_s possible or not and if yes then what are the conditions and some other important information.

  • Whether or not you need a visa to enter the U.S. does not depend on your permanent resident status in Canada. It depends on your nationality. If your home country is on the visa waiver list for the U.S., you do not need a visa, but you do need to register for ESTA...see 2nd site below. See 1st site below to see if your country is on the visa waiver list. If your country is not on that list, you will need to apply for a B-2 tourist visa through the nearest American embassy or consulate in Canada. See 3rd site and follow instructions there.

  • You need a passport and, depending on your nationality, a visa.
