Wheres the best tent camping in November in southern California?|182405

Don_t want to go to the beach again and don_t want to freeze at the Grand Canyon.

  • The best camping is at Carpinteria State Beach... In fact, most of the best sites in SoCal are at the beach: El Capitan, Refugio, McGrath, Broome, Leo Carillos, Doheny, San Clemente, South Carlsbad and San Elijo. They are far and away the most popular sites.

However, at this late date, you don_t have much of a chance of scoring a site, especially around Thansgiving.

Your best bet might be Lake Cachuma, where it_s first-come, first-served. Good luck.

Joshua Tree is going to be almost as cold as the Grand Canyon. It is the high desert. Expected lows for this weekend are expected to be 34 degrees.

  • Daily News, November 4, 1004. Campgrounds are rated on overall beauty, privacy, quiet, ... This diversity is Southern California camping. For The Best in Tent Camping: .... So you want to go camping and you don_t know where to go.

  • I don_t know if you_re interested in hiking/backpacking but I_ve always wanted to go backpack in the Cleveland Nat. forest. It wouldn_t be too cold at night, comparatively, (around mid 50_s to low 60_s right now), and in the day it_s perfect weather for hiking.

  • Joshua Tree is nice. At this time of year, the desert can be a little cold at night but not too bad.

  • Hawaii
