What is a good amount to buy in for in a 5/10 no limit holdem game in vegas?|155871

Also, where would you suggest I play? I am staying at paris and friends are staying at planet hollywood. I heard paris_s poker room sucks and caseres is nice, but I wanted to hear what people thought would be good. Has anyone played in planet hollywood?

If you_re going to paly a 5/10 NL you_d better bring some $$$. I wouldn_t feel comfortable with less than $500. You need to check with the different casinos as they may vary the buy-in amount. If you go to bestofvegas.com, it will give you all the info need on all the major poker rooms.

It depends on how good of a player you are, and what your strengths are. If you think you not only have an edge against the table you are sitting at preflop, but also postflop, in terms of decision making, then you would want to buy in from the most money they allow you to buy in for. On the other hand if you either feel that while you are playing better preflop poker than the rest of the table, they are better than you postflop, or if you just feel that the table is better than you overall, you are better off buying in for the minimum amount they let you buy in for, because then you can avoid tricky post flop decisions, and just play a tight solid preflop game, and shove all in with the short stack when you hold good preflop hands and some very preflop-aggressive player raises, and so forth.

So this is what you should think about when you are trying to decide how much to buy in for.

For 5/10 No Limit? I_ve been told 100 x the BB, but I_m sure you don_t have 10 grand laying around. I would say at min $1,000, it_s NL after all.

For 5/10 NL your best bet is playing at the Belliago.

I have played at Planet Hollywood. Nice Poker room and they have very good tournaments. You won_t find a lot of people wanting to play 5/10 NL at PH. Mostly 1/2 NL.
