What time does traffic start on Halloween in West Hollywood?|185063

I live in West Hollywood and have decided to not attend the annual WeHo carnival this year, but to spend Halloween in the South Bay with friends. My husband and I want to know when we should leave to get there. We will have to take the 10 highway off of La Cienega. Would leaving at 5pm get us stuck in ridiculous traffic?

leave before it gets dark, but since Halloween is Saturday, you might want to leave earlier, like 2ish.

The WeHo Halloween website has a list of the street closures. They start closing streets at 1pm on the 31st and some don_t reopen until the 1st.

One of the world_s largest Halloween celebrations, the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval will be held from 6 p.m. to 11p.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard.

Due to the City of West Hollywood_s annual Halloween Costume Carnaval, the following streets will be temporarily CLOSED as follows:

Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Doheny Drive 1 p.m. Saturday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Sunday, November 1, 2009.
Robertson Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from 1 p.m., Saturday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Sunday, November 1, 2009.
San Vicente Boulevard between Cynthia and Melrose Avenue from 2 p.m., Saturday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Sunday, November 1, 2009.
La Cienega Boulevard between Holloway Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard from 6 p.m., Saturday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Sunday, November 1, 2005.
Sunset Boulevard eastbound and westbound turn lanes onto La Cienega Boulevard from 6 p.m., Saturday, October 31 through 7 a.m., Sunday, November 1, 2009.

La Peer Drive eastbound turn lane onto Santa Monica Boulevard from 3 p.m., Saturday, October 31 through 7 a.m., Sunday, November 1, 2009.
The City of West Hollywood will suspend permit parking for the Halloween Carnaval from 5 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 to 6 a.m., November 1, 2009. Meters will be enforced.

I would just keep going south on La Cienega through the hills, then catch the 405 (or bypass it altogether).

But if it was me, I_d leave by 2 PM, no later than 3.

10 is a parking lot then.
