I_m a guy, not a lady. I plan to wear a sarong, a t-shirt and kukui nut necklace my entire visit with board shorts underneath for hitting the waves, with Teva sandals?

What do you do with your sandals while you_re snorkeling? Where do you get those surf shoes that you can wear with your swim fins and avoid burning your feet?

Guys wear sarongs in Hawaii too. You might want to leave the Tevas in the car or room. Get a cheap pair of rubber slippers to go to the beach if you plan on leaving them to go snorkeling. Any ABC store or grocery store sells them. Longs Drugs...WalMart, etc...
Buy surf shoes at any store that sells snorkeling/scuba gear...Sports Authority has them. Lot of surfs shops carry it.

Another tip before going snorkeling, ask the life guards about the current. No matter where you go, the water may look calm on top, but you can get caught in the rip tide, gets people in trouble a lot.

The sarong is fine (totally up to the person), but leave your expensive sandles at home. Plenty _rubbah slippahs_ at every ABC store!!! You will be right at home!!! Wear what you like an _hang loose like a goose, Hawaiian style_!!

When is Rockefeller Center decorated for the holidays?|197182

We will be in NY the week of Thanksgiving (leaving NY on Thanksgiving day) and are wondering if some of the sites/windows will be decorated for Christmas? Will Rockefeller Center be decorated by then, even though the tree won_t be lit? Thanks so much for your help.

They start decorating Rockefeller Center mid-november. As a matter of fact, today they put the tree on and tomorrow or later on in the week they will be putting the gigantic star at the top. While they decorate Rockefeller, you might want to considerate stopping by Macy_s, which is already decorated! and lightened up!

My friend, the folks at Rockefeller Center just started decorating for the holiday. This year_s Christmas tree arrived early Friday morning. It will be lit on Dec. 3rd.

We_re Indian if that matters, and we would def like to fit Devon Ave into our itineraries and Chinatown it looks really nice. I recommend a boat cruise either on Lake Michigan, or up the Chicago River. You can catch it where Michigan Avenue crosses the river.

Yes, Devon Street is great. An Indian coworker took me there when we went to Chicago for training (we live 3 hours from Chicago). Now I_ve married a woman whose parents live in Chicago, and a good friend moved to Chicago, so I am there several times per year, and I insist on going to Devon street nearly every time I_m in town.

Millennium Park is nice. It is right downtown, so a good view of the skyline. They have a polished metal _bean_ about 20_ high. There is also a fountain where water comes out of two large towers with video displays inside. They show pictures of faces, and it looks like the water is coming out of the people_s mouths. It sounds weird, but it is fun on a hot day.

Chicago also has a lot of theatre, so you may consider seeing a play.

Congratulations! Yes, Devon has some wonderful Indian places. I recommend Tiffin restaurant. Food is wonderful. There is a lot to choose from here in Chicago. Navy pier is a really fun place. There is a huge ferris wheel (romantic!) and lots of great shopping, food, IMAX theater. It_s a bit tourist-y, but still a lot of fun. The museum campus has some of the greatest museums in the country. Even if museums aren_t typically your thing, the area they are in is gorgeous and gives amazing views of the skyline. Lincoln Park Zoo is a great place to walk around and spend a day at. Take a walk up and down Michigan Avenue to do some great shopping and really get a feel of downtown. There are so many street festivals here in the summer- check out metromix.com and plug in your dates to get some ideas. Chicago has a lot of great neighborhoods too- you could pick on, like Lincoln Park, Old Town, Bucktown and just walk around to get a feel for the area. Hope you have a fun trip!

Look towards Hamilton County, north and northeast of Indy. Carmel and Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) are some of the best.

Best housing prices... well, if you want the best schools, you_d have to be ready to pay for it.

The previous respondent said Hamilton South East, and they_re right! I live in Fishers, where the housing is very, very affordable in comparison to Carmel, Zionsville and even parts of Noblesville. My son is in HSE schools and we_re very happy with the results!

There are a number of neighborhoods up around I-37N and 131st, 146th going East that have a lot of inventory. Very well built housing for great prices. Since the housing market is down, you should be able to find something great! 2 years ago I bought a 4BDR with a full basement for $175K. They_re not much higher now!

What is the best mountain to snowboard at in colorado?|149298

im going to colorado at the end of march, and i want to know which mountain i should go to.

It depends on what you like to do when snowboarding (terrain park, cruising on groomers, extreme terrain, etc.) Breckenridge is fun and less expensive than Vail or Aspen. Steamboat is also great, lots of different terrain and fun at night. Crested Butte and Telluride have sick terrain, but if you_re not truly and expert then you could be happy at any of the the other mountains. Winter Park is fun but I think the terrain there can be a little boring. So I guess I_m recommending Steamboat or Breck! The good thing about Breckenridge is you are in Summit County and therefore close to other mountains like Keystone, Copper, Loveland (which is never very crowded), and Vail in case you want to mix it up.

Really any of them, its Colorado, but a buddy of mine goes out to Breckenridge and has a blast. Theres been a few ski/snowboard videos shot there, so he must be on to something.

It will be cold for sure, but as for snow ? Ice ? high winds ?
There is a saying here and it is _if you don_t like the weather wait 5 minuets_ It can change just that fast.

I_ve lived in Chicago my whole life....you can expect snow, cold, windy, and mostly gray days. You will see some sunny days but on those days it will likely be very cold (like under 25 degrees). This winter so far we have had more snow than we should have had for the whole season....so be sure to dress warm and bring your boots. Hope you have a wonderful visit! Chicago is a great city!

I have lived in Chicago my whole life and Feb. and March are, for me, the most brutal. It will be cold for sure. If it rains, it is the cold cold rain that goes right to the bones. Solution- drink lots of booze, eat lots of food, stay inside. For Chicagoans, that which does not kill us makes us stronger.

How hard is it to drive Washington DC? Going to Nationals game, driving from Annapolis to Arlington.?|159328

I will be driving from Annapolis to Arlington, Virginia and then from Arlington to the Nationals game. What type of traffic should I expect? I understand DC is hard to drive in, even for those who are used to major cities.

Do you have reserved parking? There is little or no public parking available at the stadium--it_s all set aside for season ticket holders who have paid extra, and other VIPs.

It_s far better to park in Arlington and then take Metro to the game. That_s what most people do. You_ll also avoid the traffic that way.

If you don_t have a specific reason for going to Arlington, you would do still better by parking at one of the Metro stations in Prince Georges County Maryland, such as at New Carrollton, and taking the Metro from there.

I just attended my first game on Saturday. We took Metro and arrived an hour early and left before the final inning. I wish we had driven. Yes, its not cheap, but frankly the roads were clear as could be. I asked the police who where stationed everywhere on the blocks who said weekends seemed to be easier to drive as most folks were taking the advice to go Metro. Metro was fine, btw...but as I said...we gave ourselves plenty of time to get there and get out. I only know I wouldn_t want to wait out to the last minute as Metro was packed even as we rode.

Evening games, are another matter! They told me roads were a mess. So....Metro it, if its a game during the week...consider driving and parking at RFK and take the shuttle to the stadium.

This stadium is AMAZING, btw. Take lots of cash...great concessions...but not cheap.

I HIGHLY recommend driving to Arlington and taking the metro from there-- the D.C. traffic is insane. Try driving to East Falls Church metro station, parking there, and hopping on the Orange line to L_Enfant Plaza. Connect on the Green line to Navy Yard, where the new Nationals stadium is, and you_re set.

If you live in Annapolis, why not drive to New Carrollton at the end of the Orange Line, take the Metro to L_Enfant Plaza and switch to the Green Line? I also understand there_s a shuttle from RFK Stadium, but I am not sure how close that is to the Stadium Armory Metro entrance.

Don_t forget if it is a day game on Sundays, parking on the meters is FREE both in DC and Arlington Va so close to any Metrorail stop should be good...
