I can_t read in the car I get sick, and we don_t have a DVD player in the car. I am a college student, but it will be during my break between finals and summer classes.

Buy an inverter that lets you power 110V appliances from the cigarette lighter (they_re about $25 at Wal-Mart and the prices are always coming down). There are a multitude of 110V appliances that can keep you entertained: a TV, a DVD player, a CD player, even a laptop computer with games. Another toy that might be fun to play with on a long trip is a GPS unit.

Get liquored up and listen to music.

You could always bring your cell phone, or laptop or sleep, or watch scenery, or bring a lot of magazines.

You can try to get a flight since 25 hours is a very long time.

But if you absolutely HAVE to but cant read/ no dvd player there are some options:

Purchase a portable DVD player.. alot of them have good battery life and you should be able to knock out a few good movies on the way

Listen to the radio or bring something such as an ipod to listen to your own music

Try and get comfortable and sleep

Bring something like a Gameboy or PSP.. some sort of gaming device

there are many options if you just think.. Hope the trip goes well!

How old do you have to be to ride in a cab?|179155

My son asked this question and I never knew the answer. So anyone know how old do you have to be to call a cab and get a ride? Can any kid call and get a ride from a cab driver? Would the cab driver take a small kid to a destination without parent or adult approval?

What would you want an Amphitheater and Campground to be like for your best enjoyment for camping and music?|154436

Would you want seating or just a grass field for music? Would you want part of the Amphitheater to be covered? What ammenities would you like the campground to have? How far would you be willing to travel for camping and music? How long would you stay? What campgrounds do you really like and where are they? What amphitheaters do you really like and where are they? How cold is too cold for you to camp? How much would you be willing to pay for camping? How much would you be willing to pay for Music? Anything else you can think of?

I live in Colorado and I haven_t travelled to much but I can recommend some things around here. Red Rocks amphitheater is located about 35 minutes from Denver and it is beautiful. You can type in the name and see it. It is carved from red sandstone and has an unbelievable view. At night, they light fires on the stage. It is a great place for music, the prices can be steep though. It is not a huge ampitheater so allmost all the seats are really good. Another local outdoor place for music is Fiddlers Green. It is the standard sit in a field of grass venue. I prefer Red Rocks. You have to plan ahead because the tix go fast and scalpers charge a fortune.
I camp locally of course, I have a lot of places I like. I prefer to camp pretty rustic. That is, I take along everything I need for a few days. I camp in free open places so it isn_t expensive. No services at the campgrounds of course. But, if I am lucky, nobody around either. There are some nice places that aren_t far from Denver and easy to get to. Unless you have a sturdy vehicle with 4-wheel, I don_t recommend some areas. I have torn up my car trying to get to these rugged areas and it isn_t worth it.
So, I can only recommend places around Colorado, I would be happy to give some details. It is nice to get tips from a local. The weather is just about perfect for camping from now into September. Weekends, it can get crowded so I try to go around Mondays, or Tuesdays. It is nice to camp for about 2 nights and get a cheap room with a hot shower the third. Around October the weather cools off and it can be snowing in the mountains by then. I don_t camp when it is snowing, besides the cold, it is slippery to drive in and some roads get closed. Hope I helped. You can click on my name if you have any questions. I would recommend a vacation in Colorado sometime, just be sure to bring a car and plan on being around at least a week or so. There are lots of music festivals to go to. I think Vail, Aspen and Breckenridge have some things going. It is funny, most people only go to these towns for skiing, they are great to visit in the Summer. The rooms can be a lot cheaper also.

My family and I are moving there in March. He would be great in the restaurant or hotel industries. Are there jobs available?

I work in IT and used to get calls about jobs in Phoenix all the time, and they_ve slowed dramatically in the past six months.
Phoenix_s travel economy is heavily reliant on resorts and Spring Training baseball traffic. Both have slowed and the corporations that own the hotels are cutting jobs.
If you can get a job out there, then you_ll likely be able to find a bargain on a house. The mortgage crisis hit Metro Phoenix hard.

Right now there are a few jobs available you just have to go out and look for it, the economy to me personally is ok, depends what industry your job is, like my job we work in the housing industry and its kinda slow but thank God we still have jobs, I think you guys will do alright here no worries ;-)

Well it_s a good time to buy a house down here, but jobs are getting harder to find. If he is good then he should be able to find something, I suggest in Scottsdale since they pay more and are big on hotels, restaurants and golf courses.

The economy is slow, but Hotels and Restaurants are always hiring.

I want to fly to hawaii and I have a green card and a valid united states drivers license. Will those two things be enough to get through? Also, would I need the actual card or can I just have copies of all of my legal papers?

Like they said above, all you need is your driver_s license. Hawaii is part of the US not another country. If you feel like you need to take your papers, it would be best to take the actual card, BUT KEEP IT IN A SAFE PLACE!! When you_re at the airport, they look at your ticket and your DL/Passport and make sure its really you and then after all the security you get on the plane, fly to Hawaii and have fun. :)

All you need is a driver_s license, but once you get here make sure to register with the Honolulu Police Department and your country_s embassy. HPD will require a blood sample, so be prepared.

Also, don_t forget to exchange your money for Hawaiian money. You can do this at any money exchange counter at the Honolulu Airport.

Hawaii state law also requires you to wear an aloha shirt every Friday, so be sure to buy several pairs before you come.

Don_t pay attention to Ari. Everything he says after _All you need is your driver_s license_ is a lie. Going to Hawaii from the mainland US is like going from California to Arizona. You do have to go through an agricultural inspection on the way back (they x-ray your bags looking for plants or fruits/vegetables that you can_t import to the mainland). But, Hawaii is just another state in the union, and anyone currently in the United States legally can come and go there freely.

Hawaii is a US state, just like New York and Florida. All you need to fly from the mainland to Hawaii is your US driving license.
