Where In Pennsylvania would be a good weekend vacation destination in October?|117405

My wife and I have our ten year anniversary in October, and I_d like us to go somewhere special. Our destination would probably have to be in Pennsylvania, because her family lives in Pittsburgh and we would leave our son with her sister.

October in PA is the most beautiful time of year to visit; days are warm, nights cool and the leaves are breath-taking!

I suggest confluence, the Youghiogheny River has various sites around it, a hike/bike trail that stretches from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. and sometime in October they have a pumpkin fest. It_s about an 1 hour to an 1 1/2 from Pittsburgh and you could find a nice cabin or B_B to stay in. Also they have local wineries.

P.S. Congrats our 5 year anniversary is in October.

I_d say the Pocono Mountains in eastern PA by the Delaware water gap. It_s cooler at night, but beautiful by day.
