What is the largest or main public library in Sufflok County Long island New york?|170098

I_m looking for the library that would have a research section and microfilm of the local newspapers in archives for Long Island/Suffolk County.

You are probably better off with a university library--Stony Brook_s a good suggestion. I don_t know their policy about allowing non-students to use their collection. Here is a link for Suffolk County libraries.

If you were not looking for local newspapers, I_d suggest asking a librarian about online subscription databases. Many libraries would have the New York Times historical database along with others, but local papers are another thing.
I_m a librarian, but I_m not in a public library. Definitely ask a public librarian about this. He/she will know how to help you get what you need if they don_t have it in their library. There are probably historical societies that might have this material as well, and, again, a reference librarian will know about that.

Erm...I would check the library at SUNY Stony Brook. They have several libraries with lots of microfilm.
