What is the best places to go on a road trip in texas?|186247

i am planning a fun and exciting road trip as a family vacation right here in texas. But what is the best places to go. I need lots of ideas i am really good at planning. i was thinking the six flags amusement parks and the alamo, and even blue bell creamery and places like that, but i want the kids to have fun so what else is out there. I am trying to plan it on a budget though.

Houston -
Downtown Aquarium is 500,000 gallons of marine life. You can ride a train through a shark tank, eat at the Aquarium restaurant, see exhibits and play games.
NASA Space Center to see actual space crafts, touch moon rocks, land a shuttle or try a space walk on a simulator.
