check www.vegas.com and look at the section for attractions, then the free stuff like the Fountains at the Bellagio as well as the Botanical Gardens, see the Lions at the MGM, you get the drift.
If you want to see a few things and can spend the money go the shark reef at Mandalay bay, the Eiffel tower at the Paris, if you want there is the roller coaster at the NY NY many of these range from $10-$15. so you can have plenty to do and see without gambling.
If you plan on partying several night clubs let women in with no cover charge and well the drinks may or may not cost you depending if anyone else is buying them for you. Don_t run a tab you will be out of money in one night.
Budget for food can range from $25-$100 per day depending on what and were you plan to eat.
I always budget $100 per day on meals for two of us and never seem to go over my budget.
Shows can start around $75 on up if you plan on that. Spas start around $110 plus gratuity.
I would take $500-$650 for food and activities depending if you want to have a spa or see a show.
I never budget more than $500 for the two of us for gambling.
Hope this helps you
Have fun Glenn
Want to get the most bang for your buck? Simply walk around and check out all of the free attractions. There are the fountains at the Bellagio, the circus acts at Circus Circus, the Fremont Street Experience, the Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand and much, much more. If you aren_t afraid to wear your feet out walking, you can spend all day viewing interesting things and never spend a dime.
On the flip side, though, if you are looking to spend a few bucks, that isn_t hard to do either! Every casino offers shows and attractions of some sort with costs ranging from just a few dollars to go to the top of the stratosphere and ride a thrill ride to over a hundred dollars to see a Cirque show.
For a three night budget without much gambling, I_d be willing to bet that $500 would easily cover it assuming the hotel room is already taken care of. The food bills can definitely add up quickly if you are not careful but as long as you don_t go overboard with appetizers and desserts at every meal, you should be just fine.
Also, don_t be afraid to come back with some money left in your pocket! If you can have a great time at a low price, do it!
You can also check out http://www.cheapovegas.com for more tips on how to visit Las Vegas on a budget.
Just remember, these lavish resorts didn_t get that way because everybody wins.
I like to spend time down by the Tropican listening to the music they play outside...but that_s just me..
Just go and have fun, remember after all it is Vegas!
$20 to get from Airport to Hotel via shuttle or cab.
$9-$12 for breakfast each day
$10-$20 for Lunch
$20+ for dinner depending on where you go.
$10 for the tram pass which gets you around to many of the hotels
If you go out drinking or clubbing this is where it get_s pricey.
Beers usually start at $7 at the clubs for domestic. Mixed drinks usually range from $7-$12.
Cover charge for guys is usually $20 for the nicer clubs. $10 for cheaper ones. Women can usually get in free at most places with a coupon.
Your best bet to drink cheap is to hit up a casino bar where you can play video poker. Ask the bartender for a roll of quarters $20 bucks worth.
Whenever they are at the other end of the bar watch TV or chat with a friend. When they get nearby play a quarter at a time. if you gamble you get free drinks. I could usually parlay the $20 in quarters into 3-5 beers. If you win then you pay for your night out.
Another cheap option if you dont wanna spend alot drinking at the clubs, is hit one of the carryout_s on the strip. Buy a case of beer and put it on ice in the room. Drink in the room, then go out. You can carry beer in the hotel and on the street while you walk to where you go out. If you take a cab, you cannot drink in the cab.
If you are planning on eating somewhere other than fast food places or places that you_ve built comps from gambling on, i.e. the buffets, fancy restaurants, or your hotel room, then you should bring another $100-$300 for your meals, depending if you like to eat.
If you are planning on hitting at least one club while you are there, it will depend on how guilty you would feel to use your looks to get you liquored up (of course without giving it up, unless you want to). If you are comfortable with this, but still want some money, you_re going to need $50-$100 to get in. Use your feminine charms on idiot men to get you drinks (*note: It_ll be easy for you to get some guy to buy you drinks MAKE SURE HE DOESNT SLIP YOU SOMETHING!!)
If you are shopping, use your own discretion and control. You wouldn_t go crazy shopping back home, or would you. Use restraint.
Are you going to a strip club? Depending, most strippers love dancing for girls.. It could be either really cheap or just as expensive for men. DON_T GO TO THE STRIP CLUBS!!!!
So, I am going to round up and say $1000 (at the least $600, with very little to no gambling at all) is a perfect amount to bring. It_s actually a good amount to bring anywhere you would go, i.e. Miami, New York City (you_d have to be more of a bargain shopper/street savvy to do this here), Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. It gives you the freedom to enjoy your stay, doing pretty much everything.. but it limits you to how much you can spend in your limited time there.
Stay on the main, NEWER strip. There_s more places to go.. places like Hard Rock Cafe for happy hour are good. Staying around the pool area may get you some drinks/food from other guests at your hotel. And IF you are gambling, wait until the last day/night because you don_t want to lose any of your fun money. If you gamble the very first day, you_re more liable to get in the hole and lose every bit of change you have.
(*Note: This happened to a friend of mine about 3 years ago. We had just got to the hotel from the airport and some people went to sleep, me and some friends went to eat, and he went to gamble. He didn_t come back to the room that night. We found him the next night holding a half full bucket of quarters. THIS WAS ALL THE MONEY HE HAD LEFT, and his plane ticket..)
Good Luck and Have Fun!!!!
