How far in advance should you make hotel reservations for New Years Eve at a hotel near Times Square?|185602

My friends and I are planning to go to Times Square for New Years Eve next year and want to make sure we get a hotel thats pretty much in Times Square (like the Marriot or something)

call now. i am sure they have policies and procedures in place. it is never too early to call and ask. you may have to get an advanced deposit in and usually the hotels fill up in a few hours if it is extremely large.
