How come there is no curfew for teens in the South Side of Chicago?|194500

If there is, why don_t police enforce it? All of these kids who have been getting shot/killed lately were out past 11pm. Why don_t they go home? Why do they continue to hang out in the streets when they know that the neighborhood is not safe and prone to violence?

Two reasons-
# 1- the parents need to get on these kids butt and have them home before curfew,
# 2- The cops also need to enforce the curfew law, but Chicago is a big city and seems that there are not enough cops.

There are curfew laws in Chicago, it is how it is enforced, by the parents and law enforcement.

Not all of them are being shot after 11 or even 10 p.m. There was a girl shot the other day at 3 in the afternoon.

The curfew age is 16 and under. Anyone 17 and older can hang out as long as they want. The police do enforce it for those who appear to be 16 and under. If they stop a bunch f guys hanging out on the corner and they find out a couple of them are 16, they do haul them in and call their parents. They hang out on the streets because they have nothing better to do. Some are in gangs, some are not. and home is probably not any better than the streets. so they hang out.

um they probably dont care, and i bet the police is even scared to tell them to go home, in north Chicago they stop kids all the time for the stupidest reasons.
