Best places to visit in NH and Maine in Fall?|121202

Wanted to know best places to plan a trip for a weekend in this fall. Any details will be appreciated. We are planning it from Boston.

White Mountains in NH and ME. Portland, ME. Portsmouth, NH. List can go on and on.

Avoid the outlet shops. Too crowded.

Freeport Maine is just about 2-2.5 hours north and they have great outlets and the LL Bean Store. Its fun to visit in the fall. If you want to go a little further you could do North Conway, NH or hiking up in the White Mountains NH.

There_s a lot to see in Maine especially near the coast. We go up there every fall. You can see the lighthouses, Nubble Light house, Cape Elizabeth Light, and Portland Headlight are the easiest to visit since you_re going up for a weekend. There_s lot_s of places to shop. Especially in Kittery and further north in Freeport. If you_re near Portland, just to the south, be sure to check out Two Lights State Park. The scenery is great! There are several beaches between Portland and York that are worth the visit.

Fall is a great time to go to Maine, The crowds and the traffic are much better. Also hotels and motels are at discounted rates.

If you_re going up there to look at leaves go soon. They were already changing as of last week.

I would love to see Vermont.they say it is awesome in fall

My boyfriend loves cars - working on the engines, wiring, body work - all that stuff. It_ll be three years for us soon, and I was thinking about planning a trip as a surprise. What I was thinking was some sort of car attraction, like a museum or something? I_m way out of my league in this department and desperately need some help. We live in Iowa, so somewhere in Iowa, or close to the border would be ideal, or somewhere near the Ozarks, for that is another trip we were thinking about.

How long after Christmas does Disney World keep their decorations up?|134091

I am going to Florida to visit my grandparents on Jan 1st and we_re hoping to spend a day or two at Disney World. I_ve always dreamed of seeing Disney decorated for Christmas so I was if anyone knew when they started to take thier decorations down. Is there a chance I could still see them if I went as soon as I got to Florida? Thanks!

The lights at Hollywood Studios are scheduled to be up until January 4. So I would guess that would be standard among the four Disney parks.

Well I_m from Troy, AL just 30 mins south of Montgomery. Alabama is pretty much the same as every other state, the only difference people go out their way to talk to you. Don_t worry about it. Just be yourself and everything will be all good.

Whats the best route to take on a roadtrip from LA to Seattle?|118714

Two of my friends and I are planning a roadtrip for next summer and we have a little over a week to go from LA to Seattle and back. We are planning on sleeping in motels along the way, since my friends are not the camping type.

I_d say up the coast, that way you can enjoy the scenery. The last time I drove from the Seattle area down to L.A. we took I-5 and the majority of the trip was pretty boring. The main highlight from that trip might_ve been the Lake Shasta area. I love the Oregon coast, it has a lot to do and see. If you drive East after that towards Astoria and take the bridge across to WA it gets prettier and there_s more to see on I-5.

I agree with take the Pacific Coast Highway, but take it all the way and come back of Interstate 5. About three days going up, two days in Seattle, and two days back. It_s a wonderful trip. I took that trip several years ago.

Up the coast has my vote, too. Take PCH (1) through Big Sur, all the way north of Willits, if you want. The only drawback is that it_s slow going; you can cut over to the 101 any time, and that_s beautiful, too. Take the 101 as far north as you want (you can stay on it until just south of Seattle, even). To speed things up, just hop over to the 5 (it goes from Mexico to Canada).

Good luck...it_s a terrific drive, though; the Redwoods are amazing. If you cut over from the 1 to the 101 around Arcata, watch for zombies around the Hoopa area...I think it_s a breeding ground...
