My husband is riding the Pan Mass Challenge and needs to fundraise. Any ideas for fund raisers?|135918

The Pan Mass Challenge is a 180 mile bike ride across Massachusetts that supports cancer research for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. Riders need to raise $3400.00 to participate. We have sent letters out to friends and family but need to do more to raise the money. We_d appreciate any ideas for fundraisers!

  • I walked the 3 Day Avon Walk and did the same as you. In addition to that, I invited people to my home and had a representative come in to speak to my group. My guests were so impressed that they wrote checks that day. All you would need to do is provide some appetizers and drinks.

It was easier than waiting for response from the letters. It is very difficult to raise money but I know you will do it. Contact them for tips. I volunteered in Cambridge for two years before my walk and they were great with ideas for marketing.

It is hard to approach people though. Have you tried mailing to your doctors and dentists? Maybe your friends can post something at their office to help out. I don_t know when the race is but a golf tournament might be an option.

I agree with asking your coffee shops and restaurants if you can place a container for your local hero. Do you belong to any Chamber of Commerce?

Good Luck and God Speed! I am proud of your heroism.

  • You could ask local business to donate items and raffle them off.
Ask local business where you frequent for lunch or coffee and ask if you can leave a can for donations. UNO Pizzeria also allows you to have a party night. You set up a night and ask friends, family, coworkers, etc. to eat at UNOs that day and UNOs will give you a percentage back. Other places may do that as well.
  • What is your favourite ride and restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida?|136399

It can be in any of the parks or water parks. You can list more than one if you want.

  • I_m going to cheat and pick a favorite ride from each park.

Magic Kingdom: Splash Mountain (Brer Rabbit is awesome, what can I say!?)

Epcot: Mission Space (the regular one, not the kid version)

Hollywood Studios: Rockin_ Rollercoaster (one of my favorite rides...ever)

    Animal Kingdom: Everest

As far as restaurants go...they are very similar. The nicer restaurants require reservations in advance. One restaurant that I really enjoy is Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios.

  • MK: Pirates of the Caribbean, Food, Crystal Palace, Cinderellas Castle

Epcot: Imagination, or Test Track, Steakhouse in Canada, Resturant in France(awesome dessert too!)

Animal Kingdom: Safarri, Dinosaur. The character breakfast was the best (dont recall the name)

HollyWood Studios: Great Movie Ride, Backlot Tour. Hollywood and vine, Brown Derby is reasonable if you do the fantasmic dinner package. Sci Fi dine in!

  • my favorite ride Spaceship Earth in EPCOT. or SOARIN on EPCOT. the favorite restaurant Sci-Fi, in hollywood studios. in the entrace of tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom is one that have good BBQ chicken and ribs. i liked. also i like Electric Umbrella in EPCOT. Sci-Fi is in hollywood studios. AK i dont likke any.

  • Favorite ride would probably be the Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios.

Favorite restaurant is the San Angel Inn/Mexican restaurant at Epcot

  • my favorite ride is expedtion everest and the rockin roller coaster and my favorite restaurant is any restaurant because they all pretty much sell the same thing

  • Favorite ride: probably Soarin_ at Epcot.
Favorite restaurant: Ohana at the Polynesian.

  • I love Rainforest Cafe outside of Animal Kingdom. I like the Safari Bus ride there too.

  • I love it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • How is the TODAY show filmed for the east coast and the west coast live?|145656

I know the Today show is on for like 4 hours (7am-11am) . When I lived on the east coast, it was live. Now that I live on the west coast, I_m wondering how it works. Some segments if not all still say they are live. Are they just re-airing them or are they actually live for the west coast too.
    Just curious.

  • are the times the same? on the East it is 7 am-11 am, on the west is it 11 am-3 pm? that would explain it. if it airs at the same time 7 am-11 am on both coasts then it is not live on the west, just a re-airing.

  • It_s on tape delay for the west coast. The only time it is actually live for the west coast is if something significant happens (9-11 for example).
  • What are some romantic places to stay in California?|182924

I hope you all have a blast in the Poconos!!!!!!!

  • Kriskez had a great answer. In addition, consider rafting on the Lehigh, I think their called Whitewater Challenge and Pocono whitewater rafting, try googling it. Also Hickory Run State Park offers plenty of hiking (Don_t goto Bushkill Fall, you just pay money to hike, it_s absurd). Also just hike anywhere, have fun. Jim Thorpe is a quaint little town, worth visiting.

Also, for the wife there are outlet stores on I-80 (Tannersville Outlets). Alot of great stores right near Camelback/Camelbeach, check it out.

  • you could leave the kids with your mom or something, and just go with your spouse then maybe you could have some real fun like skinny dipping....??
    :D

  • Not that this is where you zone but the pass very well!!!!!
  • Where is the best place in the US to spend a month?|133136

My wife, daughter (18 months old), and I are planning to take a month off this summer to go enjoy ourselves somewhere. We_re not going to fly because of our daughter_s age, so it will have to be in the US or Canada. We_re looking to spend $5000 or so rent for the month. Any suggestions?

  • There are many nice places in Myrtle Beach, SC for that price. Nice beaches and many other attractions for people of wildly varying tastes and interests.
There are also many nice cottages for rent on the many lakes in Ontario, Canada. The weather is nice, and people are friendly also.

  • Florida,, good beaches
    hawii, beaches
    sanfrancisco
    new york

  • New Jersey Shore -_ July - August.
  • Does anyone know where me and my honey should go for a romantic weekend gettaway?|159026

Take a look, and see if any suite you!

Charlottesville is a nice area to visit that is not too far from DC. A few years ago we visited there in Nov. and stayed at

We stayed in the Carriage House for a very good rate. Take a look at their promotions. It_s lovely, and the food is great!

You could stay in Washington, VA and stay at one of the inns and have dinner at The Inn at Little Washington. This inn is rated highly

but there are others. It_s beautiful with the mountains and open fields.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  • It_s a beautiful time to drive down to the Smokies. The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and the scenery is beautiful. You can easily book a honeymoon suite or even a private cabin for way less than $500 per night.

  • Need more info. Where do you live. How far are you willing to travel. Expensive...or inexpensive.
