What time should I get down to the plaza for the Today Show In NYC?|164473

I will be in NYC, and want to go to the Today Show on Feb 1st, Sheryl Crow will be there performing. Does anyone know what time people start getting there to get a good spot?

  • If you want to get a good location, you should get there around 5AM or so.

  • 4am for sheryl crow.

  • between 6-8 a.m.

early to get on center stage.

  • If you want to be right on the front row, I would suggest you get to the Plaza at around 4am and try not to leave the area, because you_ll loose your space.

Take _B_ _D_ _F_ or _V_ train (orange line) to Rockefeller Center.

Good luck and enjoy the show.
  • How is the weather in New York end of January?|150454

Im planning my trip to go end of January and beginning February for 9-10 days and I want to know what kind of clothing would be good to carry. Thanks!

  • very cold if no snow ,windy about 38 degreees

  • It_s cold, cold and cold.

  • all i can tell you is EXTREMELY cold. bring gloves, hats, umbrellas, snow boots, coats, sweaters, ear muffs (if you wear them), scarves, and anything you would wear in the cold. sometimes it snows, or sometimes it_s just downright FREEZING. don_t bother bringing skirts (if you have to, bring heavy stockings), _ if you bring short sleeves, make sure to wear it with a hoodie (that_s what i do.) flats, flipflops, sandals anything exposing your feet is a no-no [= just bring sneakers _ boots. also, bring those long-john socks if you have any. hope you enjoy your stay _ stay warm :)

  • Is San Diego a good city to travel to for a solo vacation?|160485

I_m planning on taking a vacation alone soon, and was wondering if I would enjoy San Diego since I will be alone. I_m a 32 y/o single female, not really a social butterfly, but I do like shopping, museums, beaches, or just cruising around to sight see.

  • i would go a little north to laguna beach
but yeah there are great malls in san diego.

fashion valley in in mission valley or UTC in la jolla

    there are great beaches too!

and there are a couple museums in balboa park. its great an independant person

there is a harbor right by the airport

there are a lot of piers too!!!

youll love it here in san diego!!!

  • start at La Jolla Shores and end up at South Mission Beach. It_s a great route to take. here are some things i_ve done for free in San Diego:

  • Yes. It_s great.
Make sure to get a Passport to Balboa Park. It will give you admission to 13 museums and the zoo.

  • yes it_s really great for everyone. There is so much to do. You should go to the zoo and to the museums in Balboa Park and also there_s a great seafood pub right by the airport. Also, you c

  • San Diego has one of the highest populations of single ppl, so i would guess yes but i_ve never been there

  • I have lived in SD 37 Yrs, it has it_s pros and cons,

Pros: everything you mentioned is pretty much the main stuff to do in SD, mall, beaches, very few museums, some sight seeing, lots of single people.

Cons: if you are into warm weather wait till late August , unless you are ok with 4th of july wearing a light sweater at the beach and muggy overcast, I remember going outside to see the fireworks and my nose was running, it was cold and I really was not able to see them even though I was in a rooftop in downtown because of all the overcast; san diego_s summer is actually in the fall and early winter believe it or not, these last couple of years, thats the way it has been, people buying dry christmas trees in 90 degree weather wearing winter clothing because it_s fashionably correct regardless of the temp; Last year I went on a cruise to cozumel Mexico, left SD the last days of August and summer weather had not fully kicked in yet in SD, I returned to SD to find that summer weather was still a week away, by the time my dauhter was back in school for 2 weeks it was finally about 85 degrees, problem is that_s when everyone goes back to work and spends most of the day in air conditioned offices.

Beaches are descent, prettiest beaches- Coronado, La Jolla, Del Mar, fun beaches- PB, Mission, OB, only thing is water is normally chilly all year not warm; Yes there are single people but they are extremely picky and some are cocky, but there is also lots of tourism and foreign men seem to be frendlier, California men look for perfection most of the time, it_s expensive, not very big on cultural stuff, I mean you can find it, problem is you have too look for it, unlike other cities where you feel the artsie cultural atmosphere the minute you get there.

They are really big on getting rid of vintage places and architecture and just going overboard with new construction, so It does have kind of a generic feel to it, oh and dress nice, it_s all about what you wear here. Weather changes day to day.
  • How much would i waste on gas from orlando to miami?|160966

I_m planning on going to miami for spring break and fould like to know how much I_d waste on gas from orlando to miami.
    4 cylinder car.
    Gas: 3.20

  • Distance: 236 miles
Fuel efficiency (estimate): 25 miles per gallon
Price of gallon of gas in Orlando (low): $3.20

Gallons of gas to get from Orlando to Miami: 236/25 = 9.44 gallons
Cost of gas to get from Orlando to Miami: $3.20x 9.44 = $30.20

What good middle schools would you suggest in new york?|138198

    pleaaasee help me

thanks!! =) and pls tell me if the school you mentioned is public or private.

i was a in a private school..till 7th grade..now im planning on shifting im going to 8th...and also is it bad to be in a public school ?? like ..low class or soemthing?

    sorry if i offend anyone
    not my intention

  • There are MANY great public middle schools in this city. I_m familiar with east-northeast Queens, which has a bunch of very good ones. There are good ones in other parts of the city, too, but I_m not familiar with them, and therefore have no suggestions. I went to a public one, and have graduated at the top of every class I_ve been in since then, including a public high school and a private university (there are some top-notch good public colleges here as well, but that_s the one that had my field of study and paid me to go there).

Forget about this idea of being _low class_ if you go to a public middle school, I had a great time in mine. That said, there are sadly many parts of this city with sub-par schools, so be careful of where you pick.

  • But again, I reiterate - not all public schools are good. There are some pretty bad ones. However, there are also many over-rated private schools that don_t live up to their _reputations._ Do some research.

  • Keep in mind, the private schools want your money, so they_ll feed you the line that public schools are automatically bad and dangerous. Get some _second opinions_ on that.

  • And I still stand by my answer, despite the thumbs-down. This is speaking from my experience.

  • I really can_t think of any good middle schools, I_d say stick to a private school.

I went to Hunter College HS, which has a middle school in it.

I_d say they_re pretty selective, so see if you qualify for the exam, you need to have certain scores to be allowed to take it.

  • What would be the cheapest accomodations in Boston to live for a month or possibly 2?|161211

I would like to go for holidays in Boston or surrounding areas of Boston and need a place to stay but the hotels are so expensive, please let me know the cheapest places to stay?

  • If you can go in the summer the PERFECT and most economical way to do this would be to sublet an apartment in Boston. As you likely know the Boston area is home to TONS of Colleges, and many of the students sublet during the summer months. Some have some very nice places, and the rents are always WAY below the regular market value. You_d need to start looking very soon though.

I was surprised but Craig_s list turned out to be a great resource for this. Here_s a link to them.
    http://boston.craigslist.org/sub/.
If you are able to get a Sunday Boston Globe that would also have a lot of them. But this is a good starting point.

Beyond that, it is going to be VERY expensive to find a place to stay for that long of a time. If it is off season you might be able to find a somewhat affordable place in a vacation area, but Boston would be impossible.

Best of luck finding a place! Hope you can do the summer...the town comes alive and there is so much to do!

  • Try the town of Beverly. A friend and I were able to find a great hotel with a kitchenette and large living room directly across from train access (which you can hardly notice). It was an AAA recommendation and if you are a member, you also get the discount. There is also a super restaurant right down the road and Beverly is only about 15 minutes from Boston proper.
    It_s called the Lakeview Motel.
