Great Falls Montana - Are there any good places near that an amateur photographer would enjoy?|150651

I_m going to be in the area for a couple of weeks and I was wondering if anyone near here knew some places that would nice to photograph. Thanks.

I would suggest doing a search of Montana ghost towns. They tend to be very picturesque, set in the mountains with streams nearby and many opportunities to see wildlife while there or while making the trip to them.

What are good resorts in the California Desert?|129641

It could be in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, or actually anywhere warm in Southern California. I want to have a pool and/or lazy river. Also, I want to go to a resort that has straight people, because I heard Palm Springs has a high gay population and I want to avoid that.

My favorite of all is Two Bunch Palms in Desert Hot Springs. We got engaged there so for me it will ever be a romantic place. It is not particularly a gay place, although I don_t think gay couples would feel unwelcome (nor should they). The _lazy river_ is natural hot spring-fed pools. They also have regular pools, but oh those hot and hotter pools are just divine!

I think that the Olympic National Park in Washington State is absolutely stunning. There_s a rainforest, old growth forest, the Pacific Ocean, Mountains, Native American artifacts, it_s somewhat accessible on trails for wheelchairs, 4 lodges, 4 different visitor centers, and 16 campgrounds.

You can hike, backpack, climb, ski, snowshoe, watch birds, ride horses, and fish.

And it_s beautiful.

Utah has the best. Brice Canyon is awesome (my favorite) but there are several others all near each other. Best in USA.

glacier natl park/waterton park beautiful scenery, animals come right up to you just a nice place

Yosemite is AWESOME. I_ve never seen anything like it. HUGE rocks and lots of water falls. It is a must see at least once.

take the 5 freeway north, to the 101 freeway west, exit Lankershim Blvd. turn right. From there at the Universal City station you can take the red line metro subway into Hollywood so you won_t spend so much time in traffic

Is there any laid back coffee shops in NYC where I could lounge and study for a few hours?|131817

I am looking for a coffee shop preferable in Manhattan where I can lounge and read books for a couple of hours over a cup of coffee.

Everything I_ve been finding so far has wooden chairs and tables with this quick drink and go environment. I haven_t found anything with couches or where lounging is encouraged. Any ideas?

What is the normal weather in the western region of the US around the December amp; January?|133921

My husband and I are planning a road trip for about a week a couple days after Christmas. We were going to drive from Tennessee to California. Just wondering what the weather is like normally around that time of the year. I would like to know for any of the states that we are driving through (AK, OK, TX, NM, AZ, _ CO)

Hard to say exactly but expect snow _ really cold weather on I-40 from Oklahoma City to Ash Fork AZ.I would definitely carry chains.
As in all winter driving situations the key to success is making sure that you have the capability to safely spend the night in the car should the need arise to do so
btw How did CO get into that mix ?
FYI_I know for a fact that in good weather you can drive Amarillo to Memphis in one day _albeit it_s a long day

Yeah this is a dumb place to ask for that kind of info, also i used to live in California, it will be 80 degrees and sunny in so-co but u drive 2-3 hours north and your skiing.

Go to weather.com and check out each state. Also each state_s climate is reported in their wikipedia article. I presume you are going on the I-40 most of the way. Expect snow in New Mexico and Arizona because of the altitude. .
