I_m not a high-roller or even a big gambler. Las Vegas is more of a starting point for a trip to the Grand Canyon. The trip will begin and end in Vegas. I_d like to keep it under $100 a night. There will be 2 people, both non-smokers who prefer their own bed. No SPAM, please. Thank you in advance.

Well my husband and I stay at the Strastophere which is located at the North end of the strip. During the week days rooms are around $35 then of course they go up on the weekends to around $90 or so. America_s Best Value Inn is within walking distance, on Tropicana, right next to the new Hooter_s Hotel. You can get deals on Best Value Inn from hotels.com If you book it early enough, several weeks in advance, you can get it for $50 night. The Stratosphere and Sahara rise stratospherically in cost for the weekend, Best Value Inn stays lower.

Best Value Inn is not nasty or dirty, or it wouldn_t be listed on hotels.com as they have certain standards to meet. The point is that you can get better rates there than at Motel 6 because of the internet rates at sites such as expedia, hotels.com, yahoo. Motel 6 does not partner with those companies, there is only one flat rate.

And it is within walking distance. Best Value Inn usually books up somewhat quickly because it IS a great value. The staff was nice and friendly, the lobby clean and modern. The rooms are modernized, for what you get I was impressed, it has a french country decor. Nothing fancy, but they did make an effort. Have you even stayed there, guest below who stays at Motel6?

any Coast casino property will do, try the Imperial Palace on the strip for good value...also Excalibur ........any hotel downtown on Freemont St is usually a good value

You_ve heard of Epcot center there for the young and old. There is something in there for everyone ,beautiful
restaurants, and shows. At these ages it_s hard to suggest
as they get frightened by so much fast moving objects.

For the dinner shows make sure to make reservations in advance, they can be hard to get in to!

My personal favorite would be the Hoop-De-Doo Revue, which is at the Fort Wilderness Campground. Theres lots of singing and the people come out to your table and ask questions and various things so its very interactive. The best seats are downstairs so you can have a better chance of them coming to your table, but upstairs is a good view as well. One time when I went we were sat at a table in the far back by the doors which was where the Disney Executives sometimes eat when they come and several of the people in the show came over to our table, it was really nice. They serve Fried Chicken, Ribs, and other American food and delicious Strawberry Shortcake for dessert!

Another popular dinner show (that I havn_t been to, sadly) is the Spirit of Aloha Dinner show, which is a polynesian Luau with with music and dancing. They serve an all-you-can-eat feast inspired by polynesian culture. The show features hula dancers, fire twirlers, and more! Its located at the Disney_s Polynesian Resort, which is a really nice place to visit.

I_ve never been but the Hoop Dee Do Review is one of the best dinner shows at Disney. I hear it_s hard to get reservations so you have to make sure you get them well in advance.

Mickey_s Backyard Barbecue, they can dance with the characters and have a general blast, my son loves it to this day and he is 15.

Definitely the Hoop De Doo and request to be seated downstairs - much easier to see and be a part of the action. Enjoy!

do not do the hoop-dee-doo musical revue i think this is more geared to older kids or teens and adults we went last year and our kids were 7 and 11 and nephew was 6 or kids liked it except the 11 year old but i think they would of enjoyed it more if their was disney characters their this is what i thought when i made reservations this year were going to mickey_s backyard barbecue so we can be with the characters well i hope you have a good time

My goodness, well of course you_ll have to go to chef mickey_s character dinner! They have very good prime rib, _ your children will LOVE the character dinner!! I highly suggest you DONT take them to the woopty doo review or whatever. I went there _ it was just a disaster! The food was HORRIBLE. As if they just re-heated some microwave dinners _ food on the bone, _ just very dissapointing overall. The show was HORRIBLE!! My family _ I hated the atmosphere as well, it_s very olden day like. So I wouldnt suggest you go there unless you like to wait a long time, with a reservation, _ get horribe food _ a bad show.

My opinion- Chef mickey_s or any character dinner is perfect. They have that time where the kids get up _ walk around the restaurant to the beat of mickey toons. Ultimate place to eat on vacation! Have a great vacation! Hope this helped :)

The Hoop Dee Doo Review is by far the best because you_re in an enclosed space with lots of air conditioning and the staff enjoys working with young children. There_s lots of singing and dancing, and the food -- fried chicken, for example -- is the sort of thing that kids will actually eat.

you can walk, it is only 9 blocks away, or buy a CTA day pass for $5, and take bus 1,7,126,151 to state or wabash, only walk 1 to 2 blocks.
Hostel $38 per day.

Catch a cab it is very close so it will be only couple bucks. Walk it is only about 15 minutes.

Go out of the train station and go to the east side. Catch the No. 1 bus. It will drop you off on Congress and Michigan ave. Walk one block west to Wabash. Cost: $2 if you pay cash on the bus.

I_m Jenn, and me and my friend Sarah are going to Warped Tour on August 2nd at Tinley Park, IL, and we need to know what time it starts and ends so that we can get our train tickets.

The gates open to get in 11 AM.
I_m not sure what time it ends offically, but you can leave whenever you want to.
Last year I left around 9:30 PM

If you want to meet band members I would say stay as long as you can. This year I_m going to stay since a lot of the band members walk around after their sets and everything.

usually around 11, and it ends around 10 or 11 too. Get there early because there is no way of knowing what time bands are playing untill you get there and the worst is when u get there 2 hours late and you find out youve missed your favorite band

Ticketmaster says that the gates open at 11 and bands start playing at 12. It says it ends at 9:30, but last year we stuck around to get autographs and such.

We_re planning a trip to Disneyland for next year (driving down from Oregon) ... trying to decide the best time to go, and how long to take.

We_re thinking mid-to-late September, as opposed to the middle of summer ... less crowds, perhaps? Also, is there a _rainy season_ to avoid, or is it virtually sunny all the time?

And, since we_re driving down from Portland ... is one week enough time? Wife says, _yes,_ buddy at work says, _no._

Mid September is a GREAT time. Crowds are down, lines are short, and weather is still nice in general. I think I can safely predict with 100% certainty that there will be no hurricanes. (Brown Suger, this is LA, not FloriDUH!). Rain is so rare here, it_s a major news event when it happens. Generally you don_t get any until mid to late October, and the real rain doesn_t come until January, if at all.

At that time of year, you can do Disneyland in 2 or 3 days, since lines are short. You could do LA in a week, but try for a little longer.

Florida will be in the middle of their hurricane season. the best time to go would be in early May.the weather is still pretty bearable. no overpowering humidity. go to Map Quest to map out your route and see how long your journey will take. hope you have a good trip!

Temps are great in San Diego this time of year. And well all times of year. So pick a time when road travel through mountain passes is not dangerous.

I would like to rent a motorhome and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where I should rent from and where I should go on my trip. I would like to spend about seven days exploring the southwest. I haven_t gone much farther than the basics - the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Any other must see destinations?

You could always camp. I stayed in houses at the OBX for years until I discovered camping there. To me it_s a hell of alot more fun and waaaaaay cheaper. Cape Hatteras KOA is great

I_m going to be going with Sean to the Outer Banks and will also be signing the lease along with him.

One of the first things we did when we found the house was contact the real estate company and ask if, even though we_re not a family and under 24, we could still rent the place. They contacted the owner and we got the thumbs up.

Now, here comes the issue. The contract for the lease has a line stating that we are verifying that we are indeed at least 24 years old. We_ve requested that they strike that line from the lease, but they are saying they cannot. This makes us a little nervous for obvious reasons. They are also saying that they will not have any additional contracts along with the lease, so we can_t have them sign something saying that they are aware of our ages.

Does this leave us exposed to get screwed out of our money, or is this standard operating procedure in the land of rental properties?

Just as a side note. Although I recognize the reasoning behind the age limit on rentals, it makes me laugh to think that my parents would have to sign for me to rent a vacation property long after I_ve moved out and am on my own.

I think I can hep you out with a vacation rental. My company finds vacation rentals for people and we are very good at it. If you don_t mind please fill out a request form on www.thevacationfinders.com and I will have some places for you to look at within 48 hours. I know it is tuff when you are under 25 but I have access to thousands of properties.

You fall in the dreaded _non-family_ group area, and the first answer is always, but there are ways to get your group approved. I have two rental properties, and have had non-family groups rent my houses. Here is what you have to do:

First, make sure you are absolutely honest about the make up of your group. If you try to sneak in as a family group, you will be in violation and will be evicted, losing all monies on deposit.

Second, you must make sure that everyone in the group will abide by the rules laid down by the rental company. Generally, they are as follows for non family groups:

1. If you have anyone in the house under 21, there is to be no alcohol. If you break this law or any other law, this is a reason for eviction and all monies will be forfeited.

2. If the police are called to the house because of excessive noise, you will be evicted and all monies will be forfeited.

3. You must agree to a $1,000 security deposit which will be returned to you six weeks after your departure. If there is no damage, all monies will be returned. If there is damage, let the rental company know and take responsibility for it.

4. You must be willing to submit to unannounced periodic inspections during your stay by the rental company personnel. They will be checking to see if you are conforming to the above guidelines.

5.if there is no one under the age of 25 in the group, you will be required to have a parent sign the lease and take responsibility for it.


Third, the owner will want to know that you are a responsible group and one that he/she can trust with their very valuable asset. Don��t forget, the owner is in this business to make money to cover the expenses of the house. If a group goes into the house and wrecks it, they will not be able to rent this out to other prospective renters. See if the rental company might permit you to speak to the owner so you can personally tell them of your intentions and that you will be a model renter. As my mother always says, ��Leave a place better than you found it.��
