Where is a good place for a young professional to live in Memphis?|171855

I am 23 and moving to Memphis for work. I will know no one and I am moving from Columbia, SC, but I am originally from Philadelphia. Where is a good area for me to live? I want to make friends quickly and also have a dog that will be moving with me. Are there any good parks in the area or things to do with your pet?

  • First of all, my condolences for being transferred here. The best places for you to live as a young, single professional would be downtown or midtown. The nicest areas are way out east, or north Mississippi; however, those are family oriented suburbs. i would strongly encourage you to check out mud island, which is downtown. They have a very nice park along the river which would be great for your dog. Overton park is in midtown. you could find a nice place around there as well.

Do I have to fill in a visa entry form for entry to USA?|163519

    Hello!

I_m from the UK with a machine readable passport and is planning to go to NY to meet up my boyfriend and stay overnight to catch a plane to Boston the very next day. Then fly back to NY to do some serious shopping! However, do I have to fill in a visa entry form for each trip from UK to NY, NY to Boston and Boston to NY. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

  • No. You only need to complete the Immigration form when you enter the USA on the flight from the UK to New York.

    http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov/visitin

Flights between NY and Boston are domestic flights and while everyone has to show ID at check-in _ security you don_t leave the USA on the trip.

Hope you have a great time!

  • You need to fill in a green visa waiver, and this apparently needs to be done 3 days in advance now.

  • Don_t forget your soul. They_ll be asking for that as you enter the _Constitution-free_ zone, that is the border.
  • Are there hotels in Los Angeles that do not have the 21 yr old age requirement?|181868

I_ll be 18 soon and i was planning a trip. I would like to stay at the Renaissance Montura Hotel in Los Angeles, but I could not find the age requirement there anywhere.

  • It_s unlikely that they would allow anyone under 21, especially around New Years Eve.

If you are traveling to the area (more than 150 miles from home) sometimes they will make an exception if you can prove that you_re not local with your drivers license. Basically, they want to keep _locals_ out because that is generally just a party.

You would need to call a few hotels and talk to the front desk manager and get confirmation before you book the reservation.

  • 18 is the legal age in California to sign a contract, so you shouldn_t have a problem! Why don_t you call them first?
  • What are some good vacation spots in the midwest?|191606

my mom wants to go on vacation this spring and she wants to stay in the midwest reigon.

do you know any good cities to go to where we will have lots to do?

if so can you list them and list the things that the city has to offer?

  • Well, the crown jewel of the midwest is Chicago - lots to do there, including plays, blues and jazz, great parks, terrific museums, wonderful food...

If not Chicago, then you might consider Milwaukee, which is a very underrated city; Minneapolis/St. Paul; and St. Louis.

How much does it cost to rent a golf cart for a week at Myrtle Beach?|104853

I just want a rough estimate but the only site I found had bad reviews and a number to call to ask for rates.

It seems easier to ask you guys. Thanks

  • Hi John,
It varies widely depending on season of year and course. It will range from $120 for 7 days to almost $500 for the same period. The summer at Myrtle Beach is the off season with the lowest rates.
There are many, many nice courses to choose from at Myrtle!!
  • What are the best hotels or areas to stay if visiting the Taste of Chicago?|194463

I will be going there for the first time, and need to know a good all around location, but reasonably priced.

  • Try the Hyatt on Wacker Dr....it is usually less expensive than other hotels in the downtown area. The Sheraton Hotel and Towers on Michigan Ave is also a nice hotel and an easy walk to the Taste of Chicago. Also the Palmer House Hilton and Hard Rock Hotel are close but usually more expensive. you can seach on hotels.com and anyother travel website. Just look for hotels near Millenium and Grant Park. If you find a cheap one elsewhere you can always walk, taxi, or take a bus/train. www.transitchicago.com will help with the bus and train maps for public transportation downtown. Enjoy the Taste!

  • check out www.hotels.com for cheap hotel prices as well as Orbitz (www.orbitz.com). You_ll want to select near Grant Park as thats where Taste is held.

If the cost is holding you back you might want to consider staying at the International Hostel which is on Wabash and Congress Parkway. Its not far from where Taste of Chicago is and you can stay there for about $35 a night.

Enjoy Taste of Chicago and downtown Chicago in general!!

  • hi i went to taste of chicago last year and am going this year it is so much fun when i went last year i stayed at the palmer house hilton it is so big and great and so many cool shops inside and the ceiling is like the sistine chapel and as i can remember it was like $85 a night so a good deal have a good time!
  • Transportation from NYC to Six flags adventure park New Jersey?|102110

    Hi,

We are going to NYC in October and are planning on going to Six Flags but do not want to hire a car, is there a bus service to Six Flags and back?

If so where do we go to get it, how much, and what number etc?

    Thanks

  • NJ Transit Bus 308 from Port Authority Bus Terminal (42nd St_Times Sq), Gate 324.

Runs once a day to Six Flags, at 9:30am, 7 days a week. 3 times a day back.

    Travel time: 2hrs

Cost: $50, Including admission to Six Flags.

  • You can take a bus from the Port Authority. If you google them, they have a bus service schedule online that tells you when the bus departs. I believe it goes to 6flags on Saturdays and Sundays (although it might go during the week as well). The cost includes the bus ride and the entrance fee.
