What should we do for a bachelorette weekend in New York City?|126146

The bride-to-be and the maid of honor have never been to NY before. I want to plan some fun and creative things to do over the weekend. Gimme your ideas!

  • Call Me ;)

  • girls, love to shop, go macy_s!
    you can bring them to:
day1: liberty island , empire state building _ times square
(its the weekend, long queue expected)
day2: soho, chinatown, tribeca, central park, MOMA.
since you are only staying there for the weekend, the museums should be optional.
  • How long is the wait in DMV in NYC and when is the best time to go?|104848

Most of my friends say the wait is long in DMV in NYC.

  • go to the one at 34th street and go early in the morning.

  • It_s always a zoo at my local office (southeast Queens on Rockaway) but I find that it moves relatively quickly. Give yourself half a day and as soon as you get there find out exactly what line you need to be on and what paperwork you_ll need to have filled out when you finally make it to the front of the line. If you_re well prepared it shouldn_t be too bad, but expect the worst.

Some things you need to make an appointment for weeks ahead of time. See the DMV website for more info.

  • Not really its better to go in the morning early
  • Where is the cheapest safest Rent or real estate is in Florida?|189179

My company may relocate me to Florida where my region will cover in between Ocala, Orlando, and Sarasota. Where should I live at? Where is the more affordable real estate, and where is some affordable places to rent?

  • ocala cheap.friendly and beautiful you will be like a hour from Daytona, and within 2 hours to orlando , Jacksonville and tampa so this is really your best bet.

  • Hey ned simmons,

You are lucky that your company relocating you to Florida. Florida is such a nice place you will find your choice of property at South Park Circle Orlando, W. Royal Palm Road Downtown Boca Raton. If you are looking for commercial properties like offices, land, warehouse then 96th Avenue Miami, Le Jeune Road Coral Gables, Congress Avenue Delray Beach are pretty good places. Many more information available online.

  • Crystal River. Real Estate prices are pretty good and it is just a really nice area. Dunellon, which is just outside of Ocala, is also a good option. But, I would definitely choose Crystal River or some place in that area.

  • Try wish123. excellent resource. I asked a question about my health and got a nice answer from a doctor. My friend John recommended the website to me.

How much on average does your electricity bill cost you in the summer?|191555

And how big is your house? I moved to Phoenix last fall and haven_t yet spent a summer here. Our house is a two story about 2400 sq feet. I called APS to see if I could get some sort of estimate for the cost and they said they couldn_t give me one.

  • 3100 sq ft, two stories, three a/c units. Our summer bills are about $380-$450, depending on the outside heat. Last summer was pretty mild, so we only went above $400 once. We keep the a/c at 80-82. In the winter, our electric is about $120, and we didn_t use the heat at all this past year.

  • k...my mom lives in a 2 story, similar square feet house, she has m-power through aps...and she spends at most $320 in the months of july and august. She likes the a.c.
I live in a 1 bedroom 800 sq feet, and have m-power as well..and i spend about $85 in july and august. i like the a.c. as well..
M-Power is a LOT better to have..it helps you know how much you_re spending when you_re using you_re electricity and how much you_ve used through the month. You should ask aps about that :]

  • we have a very tight, energy efficientt home that is 4,000 SF on a slab. Our average cost in July and August is in the mid-$200 range if you keep the temp set during the day when you are not home at 80, and lower it when you do come home to no lower then 78.
We use to own a two story when we first moved here a long long time ago, and it was much more expensive to cool then our current one story house. That and our initial home was not as tight.

  • Our house doesn_t really compare much to yours, but we have a 1400 sq ft house and have SRP M-Power and we spend about $250-$300 a month on electric... We leave the house set at about 80*-82* during the day while we_re at work, and then we have it at about 76* at night while we_re sleeping

  • 1500 Sq feet. $100 every month. I do the plan where you just pay one straight amount every month that way in the summer I don_t end up paying $300 each month from May through September.
  • How bad is being a house keeper for a hotel?|101585

I_ve never been a house keeper for a hotel and was wondering if anyone has done this before. It_s for a small hotel. Not a hole in the wall one though. Actually it_s for a Sleep Inn.

  • It is hard work. Even in a small hotel. However its not a bad job if you are in decent shape. I worked as a housekeeper for a year or two and found the work hard. One time I changed 72 beds in one day!! talk about being tired!!

  • I would think its the same as housekeeping anywhere else. It_s hard work with not enough pay.

  • It_s honest work. And that_s never bad.

  • That_s very honorable work. Congratulations. School up on keeping your back strong; sprains occur a lot in the industry. Warm-up and stretching exercises etc.

  • It is a bad job
  • How long does it take to be a citizen of Virginia?|199496

What is the best way to get from Laguardia to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset?|121817

I have to have a procedure done at North Shore University Hospital, I am low on funds and need to figure out the cheapest way to get from the airport (Laguardia) to the hospital. How much would a cab cost for that trip?

  • My friend, the cab ride from LGA to the hospital will cost you about $37. You can take bus and train from the airport to Manhasset, then take a cab from there, it will be a lot cheaper. Here_s how to do this.

Step 1: purchase a $4 MetroCard from any Hudson News stand at the airport and take the Q48 bus from the Main Terminal, or from the Marine Air Terminal, to the Flushing-Main Street LIRR station.

Step 2: at the Flushing-Main Street LIRR station, purchase a one way off peak ticket for $4 and take the eastbound LIRR Port Washington Branch train from Main Street to Manhasset.

Please note, if you_re traveling eastbound during the evening rush hour, purchase a one way peak ticket for $5.75.

Step 3: once in Manhasset, you can take a cab from the train station to the hospital. The cab fare from the train station to the hospital is only $8 one way.

I hope this information is very helpful. If you have any questions or need travel directions while in town, just drop me a line by clicking on the avatar and e-mail icon in the profile. I_ll be glad to help.

    Good luck
