What is the best Hotel to stay in Honolulu?|131962

I am going on a Hawaiian cruise in November for my honeymoon, we want to have a day before and a day after to enjoy Hawaii. What is the best Hotel? Something near the port and airport if that is possible!

  • I always enjoy the Honolulu Prince. All oceanfront rooms at reasonable prices.

  • The Ala Moana Hotel.

The airport and the port is not within walking distance. The Ala Moana Hotel is the closest decent Hotel nearest the port. The rest are in Wakiki and they are all pretty darn good if you go 3 stars and up. Besides, it doesn_t really matter how good the hotel is, you won_t be staying in it long. Get out and have fun!!!

  • First of all, I would not recommend the Ilikai. I just recently got back from a trip to Hawaii, and this place looked like a total dump. The Outrigger Reef on the beach is beautiful. Wonderful staff, beautiful rooms, just an over all great place. I would definently recommend it.

  • ohh definitely the Ko`olina resort. it is absolutely beautiful and has so many things to do there. the Ko`olina lagoons are wonderful. the water is clear, warm and there are many colorful fish.

  • Ililkai where the Hawaii 5-0 team filmed.
  • Is San Diego a good city to travel to for a solo vacation?|115623

I_m planning on taking a vacation alone soon, and was wondering if I would enjoy San Diego since I will be alone. I_m a 32 y/o single female, not really a social butterfly, but I do like shopping, museums, beaches, or just cruising around to sight see.

  • i would go a little north to laguna beach
but yeah there are great malls in san diego.

fashion valley in in mission valley or UTC in la jolla

    there are great beaches too!

and there are a couple museums in balboa park. its great an independant person

there is a harbor right by the airport

there are a lot of piers too!!!

youll love it here in san diego!!!

  • start at La Jolla Shores and end up at South Mission Beach. It_s a great route to take. here are some things i_ve done for free in San Diego:

PB Block Party - Pacific Beach

OB Surf Contest - Ocean Beach

good luck, have fun and stay safe.

  • Yes. It_s great.
Make sure to get a Passport to Balboa Park. It will give you admission to 13 museums and the zoo.

  • yes it_s really great for everyone. There is so much to do. You should go to the zoo and to the museums in Balboa Park and also there_s a great seafood pub right by the airport. Also, you c

  • San Diego has one of the highest populations of single ppl, so i would guess yes but i_ve never been there

  • I have lived in SD 37 Yrs, it has it_s pros and cons,

Pros: everything you mentioned is pretty much the main stuff to do in SD, mall, beaches, very few museums, some sight seeing, lots of single people.

Cons: if you are into warm weather wait till late August , unless you are ok with 4th of july wearing a light sweater at the beach and muggy overcast, I remember going outside to see the fireworks and my nose was running, it was cold and I really was not able to see them even though I was in a rooftop in downtown because of all the overcast; san diego_s summer is actually in the fall and early winter believe it or not, these last couple of years, thats the way it has been, people buying dry christmas trees in 90 degree weather wearing winter clothing because it_s fashionably correct regardless of the temp; Last year I went on a cruise to cozumel Mexico, left SD the last days of August and summer weather had not fully kicked in yet in SD, I returned to SD to find that summer weather was still a week away, by the time my dauhter was back in school for 2 weeks it was finally about 85 degrees, problem is that_s when everyone goes back to work and spends most of the day in air conditioned offices.

Beaches are descent, prettiest beaches- Coronado, La Jolla, Del Mar, fun beaches- PB, Mission, OB, only thing is water is normally chilly all year not warm; Yes there are single people but they are extremely picky and some are cocky, but there is also lots of tourism and foreign men seem to be frendlier, California men look for perfection most of the time, it_s expensive, not very big on cultural stuff, I mean you can find it, problem is you have too look for it, unlike other cities where you feel the artsie cultural atmosphere the minute you get there.

They are really big on getting rid of vintage places and architecture and just going overboard with new construction, so It does have kind of a generic feel to it, oh and dress nice, it_s all about what you wear here. Weather changes day to day.

What is the best tour of the grand canyon?|183704

I am staying in Las Vegas in a few weeks and want to plan a day trip to the grand canyon. I was wondering what all inclusive tour someone has taken and could reccomend.

  • Hi, guy. I recommend you to book tours4fun_s Grand Canyon West Rim Tour. Because i just came back from Grand Canyon. The trip is so marvelous!
    http://www.tours4fun.com/grand-canyon-west-rim-tour.html

Hoover Dam is enormous. Much bigger than you_ll ever imagine until you see it. It was worth to stand on the glass bridge 4000 feet above the floor of the canyon. The west rim is beautiful and raw. The Indians who the land belongs to are very friendly.

  • What are good places right outside or Raleigh,NC with views of the skyline to live?|193337

Looking for a nice safe neighborhood outside of downtown Raleigh, which is safe, and has a nice view of the growing skyline, any help we be great.

  • In Raleigh, to get a good view of the skyline you_d basically need a neighborhood just adjacent to downtown. (Mostly due to hills and such.)
Boylan Heights, Brooklyn/Glenwood, Cameron Park, Caraleigh, Oakwood, Mordecai, and Pilot Mills would probably be where to start. But if there_s alot of trees in the way, then the view would be pretty blocked.

  • Raleigh_s skyline is growing. A developer has just started on building what will be Raleigh_s tallest building. It will be next to Crabtree Valley Mall and it will be 45 stories tall. The tallest in downtown might be the BB_T building at 32 stories maybe. I do not know of a neighborhood with what you are looking for, but maybe something north along Six Forks Road or Wake Forest road or Falls of the Neuse Road. If you have seen the pictures of downtown Raleigh that the City of Raleigh uses, that it looking at downtown from the town of Garner, southeast of Raleigh.

  • Unless something has changed in the last couple of years, Raleigh doesn_t have a skyline.
  • What are the chances of finding employment at Las Vegas?|128700

My cousin his wife 4 kids move to las vegas with no jobs (hoping to find a job). My cousin have enough savings to last them for a few months and have put a deposit on an apartment before their move. He has applied for metro police recruit for September and she is looking to break into the entertainment industry. I am worried for them. Do anyone have any advice for them?

  • It is tough times here in Vegas. The only jobs open are low paying ones. Even those are having lines formed to apply. The Metro has a hiring freeze so that doesn_t sound good. He could apply for security for now but even those do not pay much, even for armed security. To break into the entertainment industry is even harder than getting into the police force with a hiring freeze. Sorry, just telling it the way it is.

  • I have 20 years in IT and I_m former military. I am currently working as a security guard because the employment situation here is ridiculously dry. My kids live here with my ex-wife or I_d be off to anywhere cheaper.

Oh yeah, I was also a broadcaster and karaoke host, but getting into the entertainment business without a solid connection is not worth it. You can_t even get hired in a casino without knowing somebody.

Unemployment here is about 10% for last 2 months, usually at 4%. My advice - STAY PUT and save your money until the credit crisis is over.

  • The chances of finding a job are very, very pool. Metro applications are not always accepted and then the person has to go thru the weeks and weeks of schooling before they graduated and become an officer. And as far as the entertainment industry, all have been hit by the recession. But the chances before the recession and now are slim to nothing. Hundreds try for one job and few even become background.

Moving to Vegas with no jobs and kids, even with savings, could mean they wind up homeless. My advice, stay where you are until the cousin is accepted by Metro.

BTW tell him to check into Nevada Highway Patrol
  • How old do you have to be for a driving permit in Nevada?|102623

I_m 15 and soon getting a car but my school is very far i wanted to know if i could get a permit?

  • I believe 15 is the standard permit age in every state, though as already said, a permit means you must have a person with a license with you when you drive.

  • Visit the website below and click on Nevada.

It will tell you everything you need to know about driving permits in Nevada.

  • even with a permit you will still need a licensed driver in the car with you
    try looking here
