Does anybody know the name of the island off of Lynn/Nahant Massachusetts beaches? How far it is from the beach and any other information? Could somebody swim to that island?

How should I go about moving out of state?|115104

Ok, so I live in Minnesota and I plan on moving to Pennsylvania in just over a year. I, most likely, will be moving by myself. I don_t know anyone over there and I_m never really even been out of state before.
I_m certain that I_m gonna do this, so please don_t try to change my mind or anything. Any tips on moving will be greatly appreciated.
I_m going to start saving money, so if someone could tell me about how much should be my minimum, that would be amazing.

How is the TODAY show filmed for the east coast and the west coast live?|129995

I know the Today show is on for like 4 hours (7am-11am) . When I lived on the east coast, it was live. Now that I live on the west coast, I_m wondering how it works. Some segments if not all still say they are live. Are they just re-airing them or are they actually live for the west coast too.
Just curious.

are the times the same? on the East it is 7 am-11 am, on the west is it 11 am-3 pm? that would explain it. if it airs at the same time 7 am-11 am on both coasts then it is not live on the west, just a re-airing.

It_s on tape delay for the west coast. The only time it is actually live for the west coast is if something significant happens (9-11 for example).

Whats with all the people holding up signs on the street?|130476

I_ve seen people holding up signs for Little Ceasars, Pizza Hut, AT_T, etc. Just drive along US1 and you_ll see people holding up signs on the sidewalks near busy intersections. WTF is up with that? Is that a new trend for companies or something?

Yeah it_s cheap advertising: cheaper than putting an ad in the paper and it makes you look when the goofy guy in the pizza suit is jumping around. When it_s slow a manager tells the employee to go out and wave the signs-gives the employee something to do when your paying them.

I am a teacher who is contemplating a seven day trip to Washington, DC etc. in the spring of 2007 for my seventh graders. There might be 2-3 buses. Several companies have contacted me with great offers and personal incentives (stipends. travel benefits, and bonuses) to compensate for the amount of time to set up this trip. Is there anyone who has some good referrals, advice, or suggestions?

Santa Rosa california a dangerous place to live in?|127214

so im moving to cali pretty soon
and i was planning on moving
to santa rosa california
but i have been hearing that
its pretty dangerous
lots of gangs crime
scarry people.
eek is it a good place to live in?
my other option is to move to sacramento
i doubt thats any better though
i really want to move some where around

First person is right. Santa Rosa is good living. Pretty much the entire Bay Area is nice. Dont let them scare you. Im from Fort Pierce Florida and when I moved to San Jose, it was paradise. I lived on the east side and listened to them talk about how bad it was for 5 years. Yeah theres some gangs in San Jose, but if you compare it to places on the east coast, its disney land. I moved out a few years ago but I_m 25 and so I was personally around the Nortenos in that area most of the time. Majority of them are considered _gang members_ but they really arent dangerous at all. Im not trying to put them down but I think they are kind of soft because they have such a cushioned life in that area. Once in a while theres a murder, but the murder rate is low compared to any other area of its size. The areas that are considered bad in the Bay is East Oakland, East Palo Alto, and Richmond. I_ve only been to East Palo Alto cuz I worked there and I can say that its not as scary as they make it out to be. In general, the Bay Area is one of the safest places to live. You will be like a spoiled kid living out there. I moved to Thailand but if it wasnt for my love of exotic beaches I would have chose the Bay out of anywhere in USA.

I can only say that nearly everywhere in CA there are large numbers of Hispanics. When you get a lot of Hispanics, you get the gangs that are a part of the lifestyle. Generally, you can stay away from them, at least you used to be able to. The best thing to do is check the neighborhood several times during the week at different times. Look at the neighborhood schools and nearby graffiti.You are correct though, gangs are a huge problem all through CA.

Santa Rosa is extremely nice, except for a few crummy blocks on the south end, and a couple of apartment complexes in the west end. Other than that, the remaining 95% is really quite nice Where did you hear all that? Santa Rosa_s quite lovely.

Sacramento is much more liberal but as far as Santa Rosa goes it depends where exactly in the city that you_re going to move to.

There are some good neighborhoods out there.
