Does anybody know where some good, relaxing and peaceful places in California located?|194748

Also, that are free to go anytime and are beautiful.
Maybe with some flowers, waters and trees or beautiful green fields to visit? Or some place related?

  • One of my favorite places is Monterey. Of course there_s Yosemite, but Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are near there and less crowded. Mammoth Lake is nice. You can drive the 395 highway and see lots of interesting things, including ghost towns and Mono Lake with the large tufas rising from it. Lassen National Park is pretty, and interesting, with the Lava Beds National Monument nearby. Shasta Lake_s there too. Near San Diego is Julien and Temecula. Central Coast (Pismo, Cambria, etc.) is amazing and beautiful.

Enjoy exploring. There is so much to see.

  • Go to wine country or Big Bear Lake... even South Lake Tahoe is great for relaxation. Oh and if you want relaxing make sure you rent a vacation rental. Below are links to great vacation rentals in these locations.

  • Yosemite
    Lake Tahoe

I find the beach relaxing. The sound of the waves is very calming.

    Huntington Library
    Descanso Gardens
    Many trails in Griffith Park
    Angeles National Forest
    Big Bear
    Lake Arrowhead

  • Ferndale in Griffith Park Desconso Gardens in Pasadena, There is a Buddhist Garden near the end of Sunset Blvd just before PCH .
  • How is the safety-factor riding the LA Metro Red Line from Hollywood to Downtown by oneself at 10pm on a week?|177823

night? I hear the Red Line is unusually pristine for LA public transit and was thinking about using it when going to screenings and the like to avoid nighttime rush-hour traffic.

But is it a-Okay later in the evening for those used to the typical city junk?

  • I_m assuming you_re a guy from your name, but even so, it_s a bit sketchy that late at night. The economic situation is upping crime, there has been more car break-ins, hold ups, etc downtown where all the big buildings are, which is unusual. Chances are you_d be fine, but be aware of your surroundings. Also, depends on the Hollywood neighborhood. Around the Dome it_s been a bit funky lately, same with Highland. So the less walking the better.

I haven_t had much problem driving to screenings/premieres from downtown (Westwood, Universal, Hollywood) and being there on time. Maybe I_m more used to traffic. ugh = )

  • Yes, but just be normally prudent, as you would in any large city.

  • Yeah it should be fine. Probably a lot safer than driving.
  • How can I park a moving truck overnight on the upper west side of Manhattan?|170106

We are moving my daughter to W. 102nd street on Friday, and need to park the moving truck overnight Saturday night. Can anyone suggest where and how we might park the truck? It is a 16 foot Penske truck.

  • Chances are this is not going to be an option. Naturally it_s too big to put in a garage, so to park in the city your best bet is finding a spot on the street big enough. That being said, I_m not sure that you can park on the street without a permit, so be prepared to pay some parking tickets. I honestly think your best option would be to start looking into some _park and rides_ in Jersey or north of Manhattan. It would be further away, but parking in this city is a pain and costs big bucks. Good luck!

  • u cannot park commercial vehicles in NYC streets
minimum fine is 65 + tax
    be careful

What is the name of the Church going towards DC?|180387

Whenever I drive to Maryland, I see the steeples of a Church above the trees. They_re all gold, and on the tallest one, it has a person holding a dove or some kind of bird. Could you tell me the name of this Church? Sorry for the limited info. Thx!

  • It_s called the Washington D.C. Temple, and belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and is technically located in Kensington, MD.

The person you saw is the angel Moroni.

When I was a kid? It totally thought it was Snow White_s castle.

  • You are referring to the temple belonging to the lds church. The angel Moroni is the figure you see atop the steeple.
  • What is the best mall in Orlando and is there any teen clubs in Orlando?|146594

Visiting there and need to know.

  • OMG! Mall at Millenia is probably one of the best malls i have ever been too. It_s very modern with designer stores like Gucci, Chanel, Jimmy Choo. It also has a huge Forever 21 store, Urban Outfitters, Bebe, Rampage, BCBG, Guess. It_s pretty awesome. The Florida Mall is not bad either, but if you_re looking for an ultra-modern and awesome mall ....go to Mall at Millenia. You should also visit the very modern and cheap furniture store called Ikea. It_s right next to the Mall at Millenia. They only have 20 in the U.S. and it_s pretty awesome if your into interior decorating.
As far as teen clubs I_m not sure if there are many, but the one teen club I know about is called The Groove and it_s located in CityWalk at Universal.

  • Florida Mall

  • Have not heard of any teen clubs but there is so much to do you should not need one I am taking my twins there for there 13th and I know they will fall into bed totally tired out. The malls they are all good but the one mentioned above is at the end of the i drive easy and cheap to get to and its is being remodelled and will be the biggest in the world they say. hope that helps but feel free to email me if you need more info

  • If you are wanting to go to more expensive stores I_d go to Mall at Millenia, but for a wider variety of stores and a larger mall I would go to the Florida Mall.

The groove is the only club I can think of that has teen nights in Orlando.. Although I think one night a week anyone can get into a country club called Cowboys - I think it might be Friday night? To look at pictures and check out ages go to www.knightlyfe.com

    Hope this helps!!

  • Florida Mall I hear is way better than Mall at Melenia (I_ve only been to Melenia).

Teen clubs as in under 18?
    I don_t know about that.

I know 18+ for City Walk by Universal and Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney.

  • Mall of Millenia is a cool mall. They have clubs @ Pleasure Island but you have to be 21. I_d try looking into Church Street. they have a lot of bar/clubs
  • How do you get around Jersey City late at night?|155934

In Jersey Heights, is there a way to get back and forth from the PATH stations at night, weekdays and weekends? All the schedules I look at stop at like 12:30, and start again in the morning. Is there any 24 hour bus service in Jersey City?

  • Best way will be by cab.I doubt you will find a bus that late.

  • PATH goes 24/7. Some colored lines get replaced with a differing route.

  • VERY CAREFULLY!!

  • a cab is your best bet.

  • i dont knoiw of any, try a cab or car service, it might be your only way to go.

I_ve been looking on google but most of these places don_t seem to have websites.
