What is the Buckhead area of Atlanta like?|172949

My daughter recently moved to Atlanta and is in an apartment a couple of blocks from the Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead. Can somebody who lives in the area tell me if it is a safe neighborhood? Is it mostly residential? Is it considered downtown?
Thanks for your help!

  • It is a very nice area. It_s a pretty good ways north of the areas considered downtown and midtown. I would consider it very safe. The area right around the mall gets some crime, but a block away I think the crime drops to almost nothing.

Your daughter is in a good spot.

  • Heck yes. I_ve lived in Buckhead for 14 years- my whole life. I_ve never experienced anything bad like that. It_s mostly residential and there are some amazing schools, restaurants, and Lenox Square is really cool too. It_s probably the safest place in Atlanta. For the most part, It is where all the rich people live.

  • very nice area...not really too residential in the way of houses. Flats more so mixed with socially active Pubs.
  • Whats the cheapest way to ship a buffalo and a chicken?|173430

Needs to be there by 1:00. It_s for thoughtful gift.

  • Don_t worry about it, punkin. My Momma always said that it was better to mean well than to do well.

  • First of all you have to take the Buffalo and make jerkey out of it. The chicken you can drop into a container of liquefied nitrogen and instantly freeze it. Then pack them appropriately and call the New Mexico space port and make arrangements to have them put on the next missile launch! Easy!!

  • Call Dominoes and get some Buffalo Chicken Wings. May not solve the problem, but sometimes you just need to combine your problems to find a solution.

  • Animal crackers and chicken nuggets? Couldn_t you just deliver that stuff?

  • Ground into hamburger/sausage type style:)

  • Talk to UPS on the phone and they will advise you.

  • *looks at watch*

Well I hope you didn_t pay too much because they_re late!

How much would a trip to New York City for three cost?|186968

How much would it cost for about three people to drive from Lexington, KY to New York, NY for about 4 days? Should we stay in a hotel outside of the city and take the train in every day? What about food, something cheap but good. If I could get some rough estimates on these costs and maybe anything I_ve overlooked that would be TERRIFIC!

  • You will probably range in the low thousands, but DEFINITELY STAY IN HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA!. The hotel is located right across the street from Penn Station/ Madison Square Garden. It was built in 1919 by McKim, Mead _ White, They also designed The NYC Municipal building, original Penn Station, which used to stand in what is now Madison Garden, and many other US national landmarks. The hotel_s architecture is the gorgeous Neo-Renaissance style. the Hotel is very affordable. there are breathtaking views of the city from the bedrooms too. Glen Miller, the famous band leader, wrote the song Pennsylvania 6-5000 about the hotel. Glen Miller also stayed and preformed in the hotel for his Honeymoon, and numerous other times. Hotel Pennsylvania for the last 89 years has been the worlds most popular hotel after serving over 3 million guests! Hotel Penn is very clean a satisfying. Unfortunately the Hotel is being threatened for demolition so enjoy the hotel while you can. Even if you don_t stay in this hotel please go to the Save The Hotel website at
    http://savethehotel.org/.
The website also has a myspace. If you would like to add them, their URL is
    http://www.myspace.com/savethehotel.
The official website of the hotel where you can learn more information on staying there is

PLEASE HELP AND SAVE THE PAST!

  • I can not give you an estimate, because there are a lot of personal factors involved. However, I can give you some facts which may help: 1. Parking in N. York will cost you quite a few bucks (reason why I take the train in). 2. Hotels must usually be reserved in advance or you will have trouble, especially during rainy days. 3. Food can fit any budget, from the street corner hot dogs (found all over), to a Deli, to a McDonald_s, to expensive restaurants.
If you learn your way around, sleeping away from the city and taking the train in is cheaper. Bring a good pair of walking sneakers, and use the local subway which will bring you to where your heart desires (downtown to take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty), etc. Just grab a city map, because in the subway all you will see are the street stops/42nd. 32nd, etc.). While in the subway, pay attention there is the _local_, and the _express_ (underneath, makes only a couple of stops in the city, and moves on to Queens, Brooklyn, etc.).
Shows: you can plan to watch an evening show while on Broadway, according to ticket prices/your budget.
Your traveling from KY will much depend on the type of car you drive, and the ongoing gas prices. If you do park in N. York, make sure to put enough gas in the car, before you come in.
  • Can a school bus drive in the far left car pool land across the Bay Bridge from Oakland to San Francisco?|198066

There are two bus/carpool lanes as you go from Oakland to San Francisco on the Bay Bridge. These allow a vehicle to go non-stop past the toll booths. One is on the far left and the other is on the far right. Can a school bus use the one on the far left?

  • I do believe so. As long as there are students on it. I drive in the area every weekday and see many buses in the carpool lane. Also, motorcyclists drive in it too.

  • Sure
  • What is there to do inside thats fun in the Greater Orlando area of Florida?|197668

I have a flight booked to go there this weekend, and wouldn_t you know that it_s the one time of the year that it_s decided to be rainy the entire time. Go figure. But I could use some advice. Thank you.

  • Wonderworks is pretty cool. There is also Florida Mall (with the M_M store and the indoor surfing). The RDV Sportsplex in Maitland has ice skating as does the Ice Factory in Kissimmee. There is plenty of bowling as well. They have indoor skydiving as well. Outside of Orlando is Fantasy of Flight museum with a flight simulator. Medieval Times, Arabian Nights, Dolly Partan_s Stampede, and Al Capone dinner theater to name a few shows. I would try to see Cirque De Solel and/or Blue Man Group for sure.

  • What is the best way to go about selling a Time Share?|171584

Unit is paid in full, is annual and is red time meaning can be used anytime during the year to anywhere.

  • Selling a timeshare can be a tricky thing to do because there are so many of them around today. Try some unconventional ways of advertising. Put a message in your signature file of your email. Everytime you send out an email you will be advertising your timeshare.
Now that winter is around the corner, it is a great time to advertise the sale of your timeshare. Snow birds and baby boomers are looking for great deals now. If you are in a state where winters are cold, print up some flyers and post them where you can. You should find someone who is interested.
If you do decide to go with one of the companies that sell timeshares, make sure to do your research on the company.
    Good luck...

  • Find someone looking to buy a timeshare

  • There are a lot of timeshares for sale on e-bay. Beware of people offering to sell it for you. It is not worth anywhere near what you paid for it. Probably around 10%. RCI was owned by Cendant which also owned Century 21 which might be the best bet. Otherwise, find someone you know who is interested. Good luck. There are a LOT of resales on the market and prices are nowhere near what the developer gets.

  • Not here.
