What kind of footwear will I need in New York?|150581

I am going to New york next week and wondering what kind of footwear will I need. I know people recommend comfortable shoes but I am planning to wear skirts mostly (good option at this time?) and dont want to wear sports shoes.

I would wear comfortable, covered shoes while walking and riding the subway, and something stylish when you reach your destination. The nicer pair of shoes will fit into a large purse or bag, and you can change shoes as you reach the sites you are going to visit.

I_d recommend against wearing flip-flops, as they_re flimsy and your feet will get gross. Anything comfortable and supportive is the way to go (closed-toe or not is up to you). Just in the normal course of events in New York, you end up doing a lot more walking than you would otherwise, so keep that in mind when you_re packing. (Skirts are definitely a good way to go in the summer.)

since you don_t want to wear sneakers (aka sport shoes) then the next best thing are flip flops

I wear sandals all the time and I just ride the train and go to school, which takes me a second from the station and when I get home, my feet is dirty!! I think you should wear shoes.. like those Skechers shoes.

Wear some nice comfortable ballet flats since you are wearing a skirt and enjoy the city.

Take it from me, I wanted to wear shoes that looked good with my trendy skirts as well... if you spend the day out on the town in shoes not worn for comfort, you will mess up your feet, remember you have to keep up the pace walking through the City. I know it_s not your typical choice for fashion but you will see that most New Yorkers wear tennis shoes. However if you_re just going out for dinner or a play, then wear your favorite shoes.

Streets are dirty - wear covered shoes. You will SEE just about anything in New York - but you do not want to CATCH anything in NY! I almost NEVER wear sandals or open shoes, unless I park under Lincoln Center to see a concert or opera, and only am walking IN Lincoln Center!

So - wear pants and a neutral shoe.

What are some good suggestions for activities to do? When is the best time to visit the Everglades. Summer or Winter? Is it cheaper to go summer or winter?

well, you definitely wouldn_t want to visit everglades in the summer, you_d be eaten alive (by bugs, and possibly alligators)
havent been to everglades yet, but the keys are great. you can snorkel, rent kayaks or bikes, check out some of the many state parks-bahia honda is very nice

The best time to visit anywhere in South Florida is from October through April. The weather is awesome and the threat of a major storm is nill. The prices are higher because that is the peak tourist season. Visiting any other month is a crap shoot, but one thing will be certain; it��s gonna be hot and humid. Hope this helps.

Take a side trip and spend a day at the _House on the Rock_ in Spring Green WI. This will take a full day! The house with the _Infinity Room_ is cool but that_s just the tip of the iceberg for the _House_. The rest of the property features the smallest details of an intricately furnished doll house collection, to the world_s largest indoor carousel. Each exhibit is filled with the exotic, the majestic and the unexpected. All tours include the Attractions container gardens featuring 285 different types of plants.

Go to close by Baraboo it has the World Circus Museum.

If you go to The Dells you gotta do at least one breakfast at the Lumberjack restaurant.

Up around La Crosse is beautiful. You can go on a little riverboat tour of the Mississippi (I went on it and thought it would be corny, but it was very nice to be out on the river and wasn_t corny at all).
If you drive from La Crosse up to the Twin Cities, drive along Highway 61. It_s right along the river and while it does take longer than if you take the interstate, it_s a much more scenic route.
Milwaukee always has a lot going on. The Art Museum on the lakefront is a very neat place. I think Germanfest is also going on at the Summerfest grounds right along the lakefront, too. That_s just until July 27th, though.
Brewers games would be fun to go to, as they_re in town until the end of the month, but tickets are almost sold out for each game. If you_re traveling in a small group, you probably won_t have too hard of a time trying to find seats, but you should go very early. Miller Park and the Brewers are definitely a fun thing to go see in Milwaukee. Even if you can_t go to a game, just driving by it is something itself.
Milwaukee also has lots of different places to eat. Mexican, Asian, African, American, you name it.
The Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners are also worthwhile to see.

The Wisconsin Dells is a great stop. Much to do and great places to eat. Be sure to sample the Cheese Curds while in Wisconsin. Theya re sold just about everywhere and come in many varieties. My favorite stop in Wisconsin was Green Bay. You can forget trying to get a ticket to see the Packers play a home game, but the tour of Lambeau Field was great. Also, if you are there, don_t miss going through the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame. Scenery beautiful and they have an early fall up there. Enjoy your trip!

The reason I ask here instead of looking it up myself is because it won_t let me find out without actually buying the ticket...this a one-way we speak of. cheap without being totally sucky! Someone please, find this out for me and I will love you forever. Cheapest airline. Not hotel-car-airline package. I_ve got all that covered. I won_t be flying for a few years, I want to know so I can tell how much I should save up and what sort of job I should get to raise enough money for it.

Find a good like bed and breakfast / spa... and just hang there for a weekend. Get pampered all day and then go out in the evening for dinner. Or go to San Antonio, get a room on the boardwalk... enjoy some mother and daughter time... shop a little and enjoy the city.

Go on a scavenger hunt. You can each make a list for the other person. when you start your drive just point and go. Stop in out of the way places, try small town diners. Also take your camera and take pictures of your finds.

It depends on what you want. Myrtle is the common marriage destination. However there are plenty of other beach fronts available.

We are moving to the Watsonville CA area and what good general information about the area.?|134130

Looking for rental condos / townhouses in good areas. Close to Watsonville, as well as shopping and entertainment.

Watsonville, overall, is not an overly dangerous area. That being said I would not choose to live there. Check out: Freedom, La Selva Beach, Royal Oaks, or even Corrolitos.

Watsonville is a below average small-mid size city.
The crime rate is above the average for a city of it_s size (40,000). The Poverty rate is higher than average.
Things are slowly changing as time passes it is becoming more of a bedroom community of San Jose and the Silicon Valley. Not one of the most desirable ones at this point.

The population is not very mixed. 75% hispanic, 20% white and the rest is mixed. Don_t expect any Greek art fairs or Japanese Obon festivals.

Good points: The Weather. Location (Close to Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Jose)

keep your money in your front pockets!!! jk! but just do it. there have been shootings in the park. but dont be afraid, ive never seen a gun up close and i was born in watson and am being raised in watson. its not very exiting and the strawberries taste 10 times better than the stuff that gets shipped in boxes. its ghetto fab. you can say. not lots of poverty on the streets, but watson is very....mexican...not being mean and all, but yeah, being an asian in a school full of mexicans has taught me well. btw, i agree with the person above.
