How far of a drive is it from Pittsburgh,PA to Greensburg? What is a good place to live in between the two?|173923

My boyfriend and I are moving to the Pittsburgh area. I will be working in Pittsburgh, and he will be working in Greensburg. Where is a cool place to live in between the two? Is Greensburg considered far away? We were hoping he would be closer, but maybe this won_t be so bad??? Any other advice for anyone just moving to Pittsburgh? I live in Ohio now. THANKS!

  • Well, welcome to friendly, home-town southwestern PA!!
Greensburg is about 45 minutes to an hour (average) from Pittsburgh. But it depends on where in the city you will be working...because of bridges and tunnels you have to cross, which add time at rush hour!!
Good places to live would be in Greensburg, or in Irwin, or North Huntingdon Township, or Murrysville... or in Allegheny County, you could live in Monroeville, Penn Hills, Wilkins Township...
This area has such good housing values and so many friendly small towns, you_ll love it!!
  • What kinds of activities are recommended for the state of New Hampshire?|159425

I_m looking for activities that are best for New Hampshire, such as certain yearly activites or events, and the year that those activites/events started.

  • Winter/spring is skiing and snowboarding. Summer boating, hiking, swimming, fall is hiking to see the colors and fairs. Motorcycle weekend is always the third weekend in June. There is also NH International Speedway in Loudon that has Nascar racing spring thru early fall. Google State of NH and go to the tourist info page.

  • I dont know about events but I recently went camping in newhampshire and it was fun! I thik the capgrounds website is www.campwoodmoore.com

Where should I move in USA or Canada where people play country music?|160629

I know country musicians, of different origins, also there may be slight variations of country music. I love Terry Clark, George Strait, Sugarland, almost all types. I_d love to live in a place where people like this kind of music and play it everywhere.
Not to forget, to dance country music as well.

  • probably nashville, tennessee or some southern state

  • oklahoma... www.calffry.com check it out

  • Where should I stay on Lake Tahoe in the middle of October?|171141

Looking to Honeymoon to Lake Tahoe and neither of us have been there or know anyone who has. Where would be a nice relaxing place to stay where we could be right on the lake and have access to good food and some entertainment. We would also like some hiking and even some biking. We don_t need the flash of the south side_s casinos or night life.

  • Well here_s the first tip. Winter starts in Tahoe at the end of September and ranges until about May, so biking and hiking are kinda out. You might hit a nice week or you might get snow, it_s hit or miss. If you hit snow, normally most of the ski resorts don_t open until Thanksgiving weekend. I really only know about the North Shore, though the South shore has some really nice hotels within a skip of the lake, and casinos.

In Incline Village, NV on the north shore is the Hyatt and that_s the nicest hotel I_ve been to.
  • When is the low season for travel to hawaii?|137429

Just wondering when a good time to travel to hawaii is - my bro-in-law works for an airline and we can go on-the-cheap using passes. That is restricted typically during the high-season. I don_t mind going when fewer tourists are there as well.

  • Fall. Winter = Snow birds

  • Winter time.
  • What hotel in Vegas has the cheapest and best rates?|135045

I do not want to spend a lot of money on a hotel when I stay in Vegas, but want it to be on the strip. I saw that the Circus Circus offers rooms for a little more than $20 a night during weekdays. Are there any other hotels you could recommend to me for a price range of up to $35 per night during weekdays?

I would want the room to be clean. Kind of had a bad experience with a room like that before.

  • The cheapest on the strip are kind of away from the mainstream. Circus Circus, Riviera, Sahara and Stratosphere. All the hotels have pretty good rates now for weekdays. Go to this site and see what they have.

    http://www.sidestep.com/hotels

  • If you want to be on the strip I_d try excalibur its a nice hotel. I just stayed there last may and they have rooms for $35 and up. Also they recently rennovated there rooms so there actually pretty nice. and they have a food court with a mcdonalds and a few other fast food places upstairs wich can also save money if you dont feel like eating at some expensive resturaunt. you can also checkout these websites for promo codes.
    www.smartervegas.com

    www.earlyvegas.com

  • Imperial Palace. It_s across the street from Caesar_s Palace and has really inexpensive rates. Smoking rooms have balconies.

Or, you can try Stratosphere. But the reason it_s so cheap is because its at the very END of the strip.

    Have fun. Be safe!

  • Wanting to only spend $20-$35 a night doesnt leave you many options...and the options that it does leave you puts you waaaaay at the end of the strip (Strat, Circus Circus) or at a stinky dumpy hotel.

I booked Luxor for $55 a night. Check out www.luxor.com

  • I don_t know about $20, but you can definitely find cheap deals. I would recommend checking out BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

  • Excalibur is a nice hotel with good prices. Check the current hotel promotion codes on
    http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com
    - they have the latest hotel promo codes which can lower the rates.

  • During the weekdays you might be able to get strip rooms close to that price range at..

    Imperial Palace
    Excalibur
    Tropicana

    they all stink though...
