Where is the best and nearest place to Los Angeles to watch the Meteor shower on August 11 and 12?|115692

I really want it to be good because it will be my first time seeing one. I_ve check and found Joshua Tree National Park. Isn_t there any nearer park that can provide me the same view? Please help me.

Mt Pinos is a little closer.

Lancaster is OK, too.
